  • Patent number: 7075015
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wildlife guard for electrical power equipment including a disc having a central opening for fitting onto the equipment. The disc includes an electrically insulating material with a conductive filler material in quantity sufficient for the disc to maintain an electrostatic charge. The disc has an insertion slot extending from an outer portion to the central opening for movement of the disc onto the equipment. The present disclosure also provides a wildlife guard for an electrical insulator bushing having an electrical conductor extending outwardly therefrom. The wildlife guard includes an electrically nonconductive cover for covering at least a portion of the electrical conductor, the cover being adapted to mount upon the bushing and a conductive panel attached to the cover.

  • Patent number: 6161962
Abstract: An antifriction bearing (A) that enables a shaft (4) to rotate with minimum friction in a housing (2) includes a generally cylindrical outer race (46) located in an opening (12) in the housing, an inner race (48) located around the shaft, and rolling elements (50) arranged in rows between raceways on the outer and inner races. The outer race has a cylindrical exterior surface (56), whereas the opening in which the bearing is located has a flat wall (14, 16). A stabilizing block (C) may be attached to the outer race against its cylindrical surface, and this block lies along the flat surface of the housing opening to prevent the outer race from turning in the housing opening. A sensor module (B) is located within the environs of the bearing, and it contains a plurality of sensors (110, 112, 114) which produce signals that reflect conditions under which the bearing operates. Among the conditions monitored are speed, temperature and vibrations.

  • Patent number: 5927232
Abstract: A poultry feeder (1) having a drop tube or main body (7) for receiving feed from a source of feed (FC). A feed pan (5) is carried by the drop tube which receives feed for consumption by poultry. The feed pan has an outer rim (11), an outer portion spaced inwardly of the rim and an inner portion between the drop tube and the outer portion. The drop tube (7) has at least one aperture (21a-21c) therein spaced above the feed pan through which all of the feed from the drop tube is discharged for delivery to the feed pan. A first feed path (FP1) has an inlet (57a-57c) for receiving feed discharged from the at least one aperture (21a-21c) and an outlet (the open bottom of cover 33) for discharging into the inner portion of the feed pan and a second feed path (FP2) having an inlet (53a-53c) for receiving feed discharged from the at least one aperture (21a-21c) and a second outlet (55a-55c) for discharging feed into the outer portion of the feed pan.

  • Patent number: 5126020
Abstract: Detoxification apparatus for disposing of toxic waste material by incineration includes a closed reactive vessel (3) having an inlet (5) and an outlet (7). Waste material is introduced into the vessel in a fluid state and a laser (19) or other energy beam produces a high energy beam within the vessel. The waste material passes through the beam and the beam energy creates very high temperatures within the material that incinerates or ionizes the toxic waste. The detoxified material is electrolyzed and removed from the vessel for further processing.
