The flanges are shaped to provide upwardly facing bearing contact areas and downwardly facing bearing contact areas spaced from the vertical plane, each downwardly facing contact area being located to be cooperable with an upwardly facing contact area on the opposite side of the vertical plane to provide a set of bearing contact areas for supporting a suspension means connected to the material to be filed.

A plurality of parallel spaced conductors are inserted through rigid spacing and compression rings with upper and lower exposed ends for providing coupling to electric feed cables. The conductors are insulated throughout by resilient sleeves which are removably mounted in the shell. When assembled, as the shell is threaded into a hanger of a well casing head, the resilient sleeves are compressed and forced together to form a pressure-tight, insulated cable feed through device.

Means are provided for holding the piston means in its last position upon relief of said first and second pressures to indicate the operating filter condition when the system is not operating.

    Abstract: A dual sensitive retractor prevents protraction of webbing when either a predetermined vehicle acceleration or webbing acceleration occurs. The reel includes a shaft which is rotatably mounted on a frame. Locking means, in the form of a lock cup, on the frame moves locking pawls into and out of the path of ratchet teeth on the reel. An inertia mass is mounted on the shaft for rotation with respect to the shaft, and an inertia weight is provided which is responsive to changes in the inertia of the vehicle. The invention includes the improvement of providing a latch and means for mounting the latch for engaging the locking means to prevent webbing protraction. Drive means, which in one embodiment is a cam fixed to the shaft contacting the latch generally is driven by the shaft and is connected to the latch to impart rotation from the shaft to the inertia mass and to move the latch into engagement with the locking means when the webbing acceleration rotates the shaft faster than the inertia mass.

    Abstract: A balanced lid type system for industrial trash bins includes arrangements for partially opening the lid with little effort and for permitting the lid to swing wide open when it is inverted for dumping, as disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,994,415 and Re. 29,494. The operative mechanism in the present balanced lid bin system includes rollers which ride on the top edge of the sides of the bin to support the lid in a substantially balanced manner, and a pair of recesses or guideways in the rear sides of the lid which engage matching pins or rollers extending laterally from the bin to guide the lid as it rotates open in the upright or balanced partially opening mode of operation. When the lid swings wide open, as it is inverted when raised by the forks of a lift garbage dump truck, the rollers remain at the end of the tracks in the lid and the lid swings fully open about this axis.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for exothermically obtaining hydrogen or hydrogen peroxide from water vapor in a reaction chamber. The separation of the hydrogen and oxygen may be accelerated through the use of a combination host and sensitizer material which is present near spaces or voids within the reaction chamber. The water vapor has certain particular absorption bands in its absorption versus frequency characteristic. Each of the sensitizers which are located adjacent the voids in the reactant, in one embodiment forming part of the walls of small cylindrical tubes, has an energy output in the excited state which is precisely in one of the energy absorption bands in the water vapor characteristic. The host material absorbs heat energy and excites the sensitizer material. In addition to the formation of free hydrogen, some hydrogen peroxide is also formed. Other feedstocks may have energy selectively applied to them.

    Abstract: A fluid flow controller is disclosed particularly adapted for maintaining a variable value constant volume fluid flow through a conduit supplying fluid to a zone. A spring biased vane is disposed across the diameter of the conduit to provide a motion signal proportional to the average volume flow pressure across the diameter of the conduit. The motion signal from the vane and a transducer within a zone to which the fluid is being conducted responsive to an environmental parameter in the zone are connected to a controller assembly connected to control an actuator moving a damper within the conduit. The controller is adapted to position the damper to maintain the motion signal from the vane and the signal from the transducer within the controlled zone in balance.This is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 711,066 filed Aug. 2, 1976, now abandoned.

    Abstract: Two turbine engines are connected to a common gear box to drive a common load, such as a helicopter rotor, and circuitry is provided for controlling the two mechanically intercoupled engines in order to provide: (1) individual temperature shutoff for the engines, (2) limitation on the maximum total torque supplied by the two engines to avoid exceeding the power handling capability of the gear box for the associated load, (3) speed control for the engines, and (4) substantially equal sharing of the torque load by the two engines. By suitably combining the signals which require analysis, and supplying a single properly conditioned signal to the fuel control unit of each engine, tight control without oscillation or cycling may be achieved. Notch filtering to avoid reinforcement of mechanical resonances, and a variable response characteristic depending on the magnitude of the error signal may be included in the circuitry.

    Abstract: The motion of an electromechanical device such as a relay may be analyzed through the use of the present system. A bundle of fiber optic filaments are located with one end adjacent the movable object which is to be sensed or analyzed. This movable object may, for example, be the armature of an electromagnet. With regard to the fiber optic probe, half of the fiber optic elements may be provided with input illumination and the other half of the bundle may be connected to transmit reflected light from the moving armature to a remotely located light-sensitive element such as an opto-transistor. An oscilloscope is provided to monitor the response of the electromagnet to applied signals. An actuating circuit is connected not only to apply energizing current to the electromagnet, but also to trigger the sweep of the oscilloscope.
