Abstract: In a burner gun of the type including a conduit having a gas inlet supplied with a gas and an outlet, a burner nozzle assembly includes an outlet plate secured to the outlet of the gas conduit and having a plurality of circumferentially arranged cylindrical orifices extending therethrough, the outer surface of outlet plate including a circular central portion surrounded by the orifices and operative as a bluff body, whereby positive flame retention in the range of 5 PSI to 50 PSI is obtained; a hollow cylinder having a plurality of plugs secured to an end face thereof and axially movable with respect to the orifices to vary the openings thereof so as to provide a constant velocity gas exiting through the orifices; and a piston rod connected to the cylinder and externally controlled to slideably move cylinder and thereby control movement of the orifice plugs with respect to the orifices so as to vary the openings of the latter.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an aiming device for adjusting the optical axis of an automobile head lamp, characterized in that it comprises a hollow bearing attached to a movable member which is a lamp unit or a reflection mirror to be moved for adjusting the optical axis, a gear case housing a worm gear and a spur gear engaged with each other, the gear case being attached to a fixed member which is an autobody or a housing for supporting said movable member, an aiming screw whose head is fitted into said hollow bearing and whose screw portion is screwed into a female threaded hole formed in the shaft center of said spur gear, and a device for inhibiting said aiming screw from rotating circumferentially.
Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring the cooling system of a liquid-cooled automotive engine. The apparatus provides a warning of a malfunction within the system and diagnostic information of what the malfunction is. The compact apparatus is easily mounted in the inlet radiator hose and includes elements for measuring the coolant level, flow rate, pressure and temperature.
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of recovering a material active in the formation of new bone and cartilage from demineralized bone extract and the composition of said material on a pliable physiologically acceptable support.

Abstract: The invention describes an energy extractor for extracting energy from waves in the sea. A ring spine is disclosed and on the spine, spaced circumferentially thereof are flexible membranes which flex back and forth under the influence of the waves. The back and forth flexing deflects air back and forth and the air movement is used to drive air turbines and electrical generators. Arranging for the spine to be in a ring and spacing the membranes around the ring ensures efficient energy extraction regardless of wave direction.
Abstract: An anti-snoring device includes at least two clasps, each clamping around an upper molar tooth on opposite sides of the mouth; a bridge made of an acrylic-like material connecting the clasps; a button which applies pressure to the soft palate of the person; and an easily bendable wire interconnecting the button and the bridge such that the button applies pressure to the soft palate to prevent vibration thereof.
