  • Patent number: 5129318
Abstract: A refuse compacting system including a plurality of containers, each of the containers being substantially square and when placed in groups of four, forming four compacting stations, adjacent one another for occupying a reduced amount of space. In addition, the four containers would be set upon a manually rotatable platform, that would be rotatable upon a central axis for rotating the containers to a specific point when that particular container would be the point of compaction. The system would further include a single ram movable between a single preferably hydraulically operated ram movable between upper and lower positions, so that when a particular container removed directly beneath the ram, the turn-table would be manually placed in a stop position, and the ram moving to the down position in order to crush and containerize any waste materials in the container.

  • Patent number: 5125237
Abstract: A transportable container for carrying refrigerated products in frozen (sub zero) or refrigerated (for example, 40.degree.) temperatures inlcudes a structural container having an insulated outer shell with an access doorway. The upper portion of the container includes a transverse perforated baffle and positioned above the baffle are a pair of spaced apart canisters containing liquid refrigerant (CO.sub.2, for example). A gas or liquid feeder tube penetrates each bottle and communicates with an on/off valve. A feeder tube can draw liquid to dispense for cooling, or it can release gas and pressure within the canister to boil the CO.sub.2. When CO.sub.2 reaches its boiling point, the canister, its bracket, and the cold plate reach very cold tempertures to cool the cargo area. The gas is released through copper tubing over the cold plate to act as a method for convection. A temperature regulator valve dispenses CO.sub.

  • Patent number: 5125430
Abstract: A pressure difference relief valve, viz. a pressure relief valve or a vacuum relief valve, for a liquid container has a valve body which opens or closes a valve opening of a valve housing in response to the pressure difference between the interior of the valve housing and the ambient atmosphere. The valve body is connected to a slidably mounted stem. The valve is constructed with spring elements which are clamped against the stem from opposite sides thereof at a controlled force to create a frictional resistance to sliding movement of the stem. Hereby any tendency of the valve to vacillate between the closed position and a fully open position under the influence of fluctuations of the gas or air flow, e.g. caused by turbulence, is eliminated or reduced.

  • Patent number: 5126910
Abstract: A memory expansion board capable of holding up to 16 Mbytes of memory devices, using primarily 1 Mbit chips, in 2 Mbyte module increments, on a single IBM PC/AT compatible size board. The circuit board is so designed that when the memory expansion board is populated by modules and placed in a computer system it does not interfere with any of the other expansion slots within the computer system, all of the expansion slots being normally spaced apart. The memory expansion board also includes a means of protecting the memory expansion board and modules from damage due to misalignment when inserting the board and/or modules. When certain of the modules are inserted rotated 180 degrees the circuit board cannot be properly installed in the system board because of physical interference. Lastly, the memory expansion board includes a means for providing reduced length addressing memory lines to memory devices appearing on opposite sides of a circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5125178
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a lever action or pump action rifle that completely disables the weapon when in the locked position. The mechanism includes a set screw that is inserted in a small hole drilled in the side of the rifle side plate above the trigger. The set screw has attached to it a small button such that when the mechanism is in a locked position, the button located on the screw is extended into a blind hole formed in the hammer, thereby preventing pivotal movement of the hammer, and consequently preventing operation of the trigger and the lever or pump. When the mechanism is in an unlocked position, the rifle functions as originally intended by the manufacturer.

  • Patent number: 5127046
Abstract: A push-pull amplifier is used to drive a center tapped transformer in a modem/telephone line interface. The analog modem transmit signal is amplified and inverted, with the positive signal driving one end of the secondary and the inverted signal driving the second end and the center tap. This allows a lower voltage to be used to power the push-pull amplifier. A receive amplifier sums the signal at the second end of the secondary and the positive transmit signal to develop and amplify the analog signal received over the telephone line and transformed by the transformer. Zener diodes are placed in series in the telephone line to develop spikes on the secondary. If the magnitude of those spikes exceeds a predetermined level a ring indication signal is provided.

  • Patent number: 5125437
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for removing a protective armor wrapping, known as a preform, from a live electric power conductor. The apparatus mounts on an insulative rod, or hot stick, so that it can be remotely operated. The conductor is seated in a generally U-shaped, longitudinal channel member of the apparatus and then enclosed in the channel by a cover portion to form an elongated sleeve. After the conductor is in place within the sleeve formed between the cover and the channel member, the sleeve is moved along the conductor until a leading edge on the apparatus engages the preform. The preform is then stripped and unwound by rotating the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5125088
Abstract: A personal computer is disclosed having a high speed microprocessor which executes in a variety of selectable speed modes to provide greater compatibility with application programs written for slower speed microprocessors. A logic means is included responsive to a speed select signal which does not change the speed of the microprocessor oscillator (clock) but rather changes the length of a wait state or "STOP" state of the microprocessor. In the STOP state the microprocessor (CPU) does not run bus cycles until the timer times out thereby releasing the CPU STOP. By varying the length of the time delay of the one-shot timer, the microprocessor simulates microprocessor speed changes which have the appearance of earlier generation computers with older microprocessors.

  • Patent number: 5123643
Abstract: An apparatus for accurately and adjustably throwing a ball to a specific location with variable speed while causing the flight characteristics of the thrown ball to simulate those of a pitched or batted ball. The apparatus includes an elongated planar deck, a flexible pouch for receiving the ball to be thrown, and elastic straps connecting the ends of the pouch to rigid members attached to the planar deck. The entire apparatus is mounted on a support structure which may be anchored to the ground to provide stability. The ball to be thrown is placed in the pouch and rests on the deck. The pouch is drawn to the rear of the deck thereby tensioning the elastics and causing the pouch to form a flared U-shape around the ball. Upon release, the pouch propels the ball down the deck which imparts rotation to the ball to its point of release from the pouch.
