Abstract: A pressing device for extracting water from a pulp web comprises two press rolls that form between them a nip and that are arranged to extend substantially in parallel one to the other in the unloaded condition. The first press roll has its two ends supported in first bearing blocks and is stationarily fixed in the axial direction at least on one end. The second press roll is supported by its two ends in two bearing blocks. The first bearing blocks and the second bearing blocks can be braced one to the other by tension members which allow the press rolls to perform a relative movement in the axial direction under load. One of the second bearing blocks is secured against displacement in the axial direction on the lower first bearing block, by an articulated joint acting preferably on the middle of the longitudinal extension of the tension element.

Abstract: A pocket binder with a ring mount slidably seated in a compartment between the panels of the binder cover for attachment to a ringed binder. The ring mount may be partially extended from the compartment to expose a plurality of holes for insertion in a ringed binder. Alternatively, the ring mount may be retracted into the compartment to reduce the width of the pocket binder to a size capable of being stored in a suit pocket. A second embodiment discloses a pocket binder and ringed binder combination with the pocket binder attached to the ringed binder by the insertion of the rings through the holes in the pocket binder.
Abstract: The improved memory system can use various memories, such as CCDs and RAMs. Adaptive memory capability and memory servo capability improve memory characteristics. In a RAM embodiment, a detector is used to detect a memory address condition and to control the memory and the memory address register in response thereto. In a CCD embodiment, a detector is used to detect a memory reference signal and to refresh the memory signals in response thereto. Improved memory refresh, memory performance, and memory capacity enhance system characteristics. Improved memory architecture provides advantages of increased speed, lower cost, and efficiency of implementation. Information stored in memory can be scanned out at a rate greater than the addressing rate associated with the memories. This permits higher speed operation with lower cost memories. Use of an output buffer, such as a FIFO, permits normalization of memory clock rates.
Abstract: A locking wedge apparatus for fastening a printed circuit board within an elongated slot in a rack. The apparatus includes an elongated center wedge having sloped surfaces at its opposite ends and two end wedges abutting against the center wedge's slopes surfaces. A screw extends lengthwide through a channel in the center wedge to connect together the two end wedges. Rotating the screw in a forward direction draws the two end wedges toward each other, causing them to slide on the center wedge's sloped surfaces and thereby deflect transversely to lock the printed circuit board in place. A clutch mechanism limits the maximum torque that can be applied to the screw, to provide predetermined tightening of the apparatus and thereby prevent physical or functional damage to the printed circuit board. A biasing spring biases the wedges into longitudinal alignment, to facilitate initial installation of the printed circuit board and wedge assembly into the slot.
