  • Patent number: 6411582
Abstract: A disk player includes a selecting mechanism, a switching control mechanism a transporting roller-actuating mechanism, and a pickup feeding mechanism. In the disk player, an idler plate pivots in response to a direction of rotation of a worm wheel that always meshes with a worm provided on a shaft of a loading motor. Three idler gears that always mesh with the worm wheel are provided on the idler plate. The idler plate couples a switching idler gear to the switching control mechanism at a disk mounting position, couples a transporting roller-actuating idler gear to the transporting roller-actuating mechanism, and couples a pickup feeding idler gear to the pickup feeding mechanism at a pickup feed position.

  • Patent number: 6406016
Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for thin flat articles, such as monetary currency bills, includes a plenum chamber having an aperture of a size smaller than the articles to be dispensed. A suction device is connected to the plenum chamber to provide sufficient negative pressure to adhere an article to the aperture. A contact member, such as an endless belt, is mounted for movement across the aperture to drive the article adhering to the aperture for release from the stack of articles. The stack of articles can be stored in a storage tray and biased towards the plenum chamber aperture. A series of spacer members can relieve part of the bias pressure. The released articles can be counted and stored in a storage chamber until a predetermined number of articles are accumulated. Subsequently, the passageway from the storage chamber to a dispenser tray can be opened and the articles ejected to the user.

  • Patent number: 6407519
Abstract: A signal is sent to a deflection circuit and a video signal processing circuit. On receiving the signal, the deflection circuit outputs a vertical deflection signal and a horizontal deflection signal. The vertical deflection signal is sent directly to a deflection yoke while the horizontal deflection signal is sent via an S-shaped wave modulation circuit to the deflection yoke. On the other hand, the video signal processing circuit receives the signal and outputs a video signal via an amplitude modulation circuit and a frequency modulation circuit to a cathode of an electron gun. The S-shaped wave modulation circuit performs modulation on the horizontal deflection signal to change scanning speed. The amplitude modulation circuit and the frequency modulation circuit perform, on the video signal, amplitude modulation and frequency modulation which are appropriate for this speed.

  • Patent number: 6404436
Abstract: A system two dimensional image processing comprises an image display 300, a central processing unit 102, memories 103-108, a program processing section 100 which executes a game program which moves a moving object in a virtual three-dimensional space in which three-dimensional objects are arranged, and an operation section 200 which accepts speed data on the moving objects in the virtual three-dimensional space and sends the data to the program processing unit. The operation section 200 sends moving-object speed data to a perspective conversion unit 110. The perspective conversion unit 110 makes the distance between a viewpoint and a projection screen variable according to the relative speed of the moving object. As the effective visual area on the projection screen becomes smaller, the range of the virtual three-dimensional space displayed in the effective visual area becomes larger. This makes the view field angle to the projection screen variable according to the movement speed of the moving object.

  • Patent number: 6402832
Abstract: The present invention is an improved wallboard joint compound comprising an inorganic joint compound such as, for example, gypsum, mixed with water, plus one or more additives selected to reduce the moisture in the gypsum compound and improve the strength of the finished wallboard joint. The first additive is selected from a class of water soluble functional polymer with either nitrogen or sulfonate, such as, for example, polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP). A second additive is selected from a class of solid epoxy resins, preferably added together with the first additive. These two additives, when mixed with the joint compound alone or in combination, produced a more flexible, higher strength wallboard with a reduce moisture content and quicker drying time.

  • Patent number: 6398327
Abstract: A magazine insertion slot opening/closing device is able to automatically close a slide door after being opened. The front side of a magazine insertion slot formed in a decorative panel is covered by an outer door and an inner door. Both the doors are coupled to each other through first and second door plates, a gear damper and a rack plate. With this coupling structure, when one of the outer door and the inner door is moved, the other is also moved in the same direction in an interlocked manner. A locking link is urged by a lock spring in the locking direction to lock the doors in the open state through the first door plate. When closing the doors, the locking link is operated to release the doors from the locked state by rotating a cam gear with rotation of a motor or manually moving the outer door to some extent in the closing direction, whereby the doors are closed under a urging force of a door spring.

  • Patent number: 6393346
Abstract: A navigational system and a computer-based datalogger are used to store data on the distances traveled by and places visited by a monitored vehicle. The datalogger includes a clock and an on-board memory that can store time-stamped records of the latitude and longitude of places visited by the vehicle. In some such systems the vehicle operator can assign a label or a location classification to selected places that he or she visits. Additionally, in some versions of the system an administrator can use a central computer located at the vehicle's home base to assign labels to locations where the vehicle is expected to make a stop. The central computer generates a map-like graphical output that displays a point corresponding to each of the places visited. This display may also show the time spent at each place visited during an operational period.

  • Patent number: 6389672
Abstract: Components (62-65) are consecutively taken out from a plurality of component feeders (52) which supply a multiplicity of components to a component feeding position (52a) in succession, transferred to a prescribed assembling position (54a, 154a, 157a), and assembled into a product (61), which is then transferred to and held in each of a multiplicity of holding recesses provided in a product storing means (53, 153). This method allows the components to be assembled into a product by a component assembling apparatus of compact and simple construction, as well as permits the assembled product to be held and carried in the holding recesses of the product storing means to the next step of the process.

  • Patent number: 6386235
Abstract: An in-home stationary oxygen delivery system provides oxygen to patients by way of a standard oxygen concentration process and delivers the oxygen to a patient through industry standard ports such as the CGA-870 port. A unique fill nozzle is used to fill the ambulatory cylinders from the in-home oxygen concentration. A valve for the ambulatory cylinder provides a unique fill port for mating with the nozzle of the stationary unit while at the same time allowing the oxygen in the charged cylinder to be dispensed through a CGA-870 standard industry port.
