  • Patent number: 4552333
Abstract: A bayonet catch for a line of pressurized medium, comprising a tubular body (10), a lever (1) journalled pivotably to the body for turning a valve means (12), as well as coupling elements (4, 9) at the forward end of said body for disconnectable coupling of a connecting plug (11), said coupling elements comprising a push-pull sleeve surrounding the forward end of the body. A problem with pneumatic line bayonet catches is that, when a catch is opened, the outlet side pressure strikes at great force out of a releasing plug with a consequence that the disconnected line end may get out of hand and cause damage.

  • Patent number: 4542815
Abstract: A brake mechanism for controlling the velocity of articles on a gravity conveyor has a pneumatically operated actuator. During each cycle of operation of the brake a charge of air of limited volume is supplied to the actuator. The actuator is equipped with an air bleed which limits the actuator's period of action during each cycle. The charge of air is supplied by an accumulator, which is normally connected to a source of compressed air. An article actuated sensor and connected valve, upon being tripped by an article, isolates the accumulator from its air supply and connects it to the actuator activating the actuator but limiting its air supply to the charge stored in the accumulator before the valve was shifted by the sensor. The charge, once exhausted, is not replenished until the sensor is released by the article.

  • Patent number: 4488573
Abstract: A rotary plug valve which is of the type comprising a housing formed of a polymer and a rotary plug disposed in a through-passage of the housing. The plug is formed of a polymer and includes a bore selectively alignable with the through-passage to admit the passage of fluid. The plug valve is formed by forming the plug and attaching thereto a preformed polymeric shield by snap-fitting the shield onto the plug. The shield has an inner surface conforming to the periphery of the plug. The plug and shield assembly is positioned within a cavity of a mold. The cavity corresponds to the shape of the housing. A molten polymer is introduced into the cavity and intimately contacts the shield and forms the housing around the plug.

  • Patent number: 4482307
Abstract: A press designed for producing true-to-size workpieces from powder material has upper and lower platens, a base plate, a die support plate and a lower stamp, which is moved hydraulically in translation in relation to the base plate and the die plate. The die plate and the base plate are parts of a frame structure using pull-rods and having the die plate and a lower joining plate as parts thereof. The frame structure is joined with the top platen of the press by way of a connection piece, which may be moved in translation in relation to the frame structure in the direction of pressing, whereas the lower platen of the press is joined up with the lower joining plate. To get an even density in the pressed workpieces and to make possible the use of modern electronic control systems the lower stamp of the press is made up of at least two lower stamp parts which are supported on machine parts.

  • Patent number: 4473148
Abstract: An accumulator conveyor is equipped with sensors which respond to article movement by pivoting about a vertical axis as the result of having a pair of laterally spaced wheels on opposite ends of a shaft with one wheel driven by the propelling member and the other by an article supporting roller. The first wheel is larger than the second wheel and is attached to the shaft while the second wheel is connected to the shaft by a one-way clutch. Pivotal movement of the sensor results from differentiation between the relative speeds of the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4441995
Abstract: In the mechanism for supplying waste metal cuttings from machine operations to a centrifuge having air suction means for separation and recovery of the cutting oils, a driven paddle-wheel type feed gate is provided in an inclined, gravity operated feed conduit for both maintaining a generally uniform rate of feed to the centrifuge and for serving as a barrier against the entry of air through the infeed end of the conduit. An air aspiration port is provided adjacent to and on the centrifuge side of the paddle wheel through which large metal chunks are discharged by gravity while smaller cuttings are entrained by the incoming air stream and transported past the port to the centrifuge. The bottom of the conduit at the feed gate is movably mounted to permit the passage of large, chunky material and means are provided to assure discharge of long pieces of material.

  • Patent number: 4422655
Abstract: A chuck for heavy duty applications has a plurality of radially slidable jaw mounts each actuated by an L-shaped lever mounted for rocking motion about a supporting trunnion. The levers each have a leg engaging one of the jaw mounts and another engaging an actuator. An external lubricant receiving port is provided adjacent each trunnion and a multiple conduit lubricant distribution system is provided extending through the supporting trunnion and actuating lever. The chuck body also has a lubricant flow channel through which lubricant flows circumferentially of the chuck to assure uniform distribution, eliminating lubricant concentrations and eccentric weight distribution in the chuck.

  • Patent number: 4395799
Abstract: The disclosed garment hanger has an elongated, molded plastic body with clamps at each end. Each clamp has a pair of spaced legs interconnected by an integral web between its ends which holds the legs substantially spaced from each other. The web has a relatively thin central section which functions as a hinge. The legs are biased into clamping position by a spring which is suspended in a pocket between the handle portions of the clamps. The lower end of the spring has a substantially circular head which becomes distorted in shape and presses against the bottom of the handle portions of the legs and against the web as the clamp is opening for effecting a change in the operating characteristic of the clamp.
