Abstract: A method for enhancing knowledge discovery from a dataset uses visualization of a subset features within a dataset that provide the best separation of the dataset into classes. One or more classifiers are trained using each subset of features and the success rate of the classifiers in accurately classifying the dataset is calculated. The success rate is converted into a ranking that is represented as a visually distinguishable characteristic. One or more tree structures may be displayed with a node representing each feature, and the visually distinguishable characteristic is used to indicate the scores for each feature subset. Connectors between the nodes may be used to indicate unconstrained and constrained feature sets. Nodes within a constrained path may be substituted for a feature within the preferred, unconstrained path if that feature is impractical to measure.

Abstract: An image processing method includes storing corresponding addresses of original image data in respective addresses of a look-up table, the number of the respective addresses being smaller than the number of addresses that are necessary in output image data; determining whether the addresses of the original image data corresponding to the addresses of the output image data exist in the look-up table; calculating the addresses of the original image data in a first interpolation process if the addresses do not exist in the look-up table; and generating the output image data corresponding to the addresses of the output image data in a second interpolation process based on the original image data by using at least one of the calculated addresses of the original image data and the addresses of the original image data in the look-up table.
Abstract: An apparatus for producing, bagging and dispensing ice has an ice supply station, an ice collection station, a film supply, a bag forming station, and an ice transport device to transport ice from the collection station to the bag forming station. A controller controls supply of two superimposed film layers to the bag forming station, bag forming, and ice supply to the bags. A bag is partially formed from the superimposed film layers by a sealing device at the bag forming station, and ice is transported from the ice collector into the partially formed bag. The remaining open portions of the bag are sealed when sufficient ice has been supplied to the bag, which is then separated from the film supply for discharge into a storage and freezer compartment. The preceding steps are repeated until the storage and freezer compartment is filled to a predetermined level with bags of ice.
Abstract: A system for real-time optimization of power resources on an electrical system is disclosed. The system includes a data acquisition component, an analytics server, a control element and a client terminal. The data acquisition component is communicatively connected to a sensor configured to acquire real-time data output from the electrical system. The analytics server is communicatively connected to the data acquisition component and is comprised of a virtual system modeling engine, an analytics engine and a power flow optimization engine. The virtual system modeling engine is configured to generate predicted data output for the electrical system utilizing a virtual system model of the electrical system. The control element is interfaced with an electrical system component and communicatively connected to the analytics server. The client terminal is communicatively connected to the analytics server.

Abstract: In a security system for network communications with client devices, each client device has a communication module for communicating with at least one server over a network, a data storage module for storing one or more covert data values of one or more operational events at the client device, and a covert identifier generating module which creates at least one covert identifier based on the stored covert data values. The covert identifier is provided in one or more network messages to the server, or otherwise sent to the service provider, and may be provided in response to a specific request received over the network, or routinely in one or more messages normally involved in network communications. The server compares covert identifiers received from client devices having the same client identifier in order to detect possible clones.

Abstract: A method for generating architectural design requirements for a building structure is disclosed. A schematic drawing file of the building structure is loaded. The building type for the building structure is designated. A topology mask identifying the functional zones demarcated by the schematic drawing is created over the schematic drawing. Architectural design standards that are specific to the building type designated are applied to each of the identified functional zones to generate the architectural design requirements for the building structure. The architectural design standards being stored in a relational database.
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for rule-based procedural generation of terrain in real time for a virtual world. Using the terrain editor tool, the terrain system allows defining and modifying the terrain height, color, shaders, textures, flora, and environment, for example. Additionally, generating the terrain procedurally allows for detail by changing the parameters used to create the terrain geometry. These rules can also be added and removed dynamically, leading to terrain modification in real time. In addition, resources are managed for the terrain generation system, such as memory allocation and deallocation.
Abstract: A CNC tensioning system for applying tension in one or more fibers or fiber bundles drawn into a fiber process in a fiber movement direction includes a reverse torque mechanism that applies a net torque on the one or more fibers or fiber bundles in a reverse direction from the fiber movement direction; a motion-control motor that drives the reverse torque mechanism to apply a net torque on the one or more fibers or fiber bundles in a reverse direction from the fiber movement direction; and a computer system controlling the motion-control motor to incrementally control net torque on the one or more fibers or fiber bundles in a reverse direction from the fiber movement direction in discrete incremental values.

Abstract: A vacuum suction nozzle operable to reduce or eliminate electronic component blow off and electrostatic damage is disclosed. The vacuum suction nozzle comprises a ceramic body with a first surface at a side opposite to a second surface of the ceramic body. The ceramic body causes static electricity generated on the vacuum suction nozzle to be dissipated to an electronic component mounting device. Dissipation of the static electricity reduces or eliminates electrostatic damage to the electronic component and electrostatic repulsion induced blow off during suction by the vacuum suction nozzle.
Abstract: A digital slide analysis system comprises an algorithm server that maintains or has access to a plurality of image processing and analysis routines. The algorithm server additionally has access to a plurality of digital slide images. The algorithm server executes a selected routine on an identified digital slide and provides the resulting data. Prior to the application of selected routine, the system employs a digital pre-processing module to create a metadata mask that reduces undesirable image data such that the image data processed by the selected routine has an improved signal to noise ratio. The pre-processing module uses a classifier that may be implemented as a pattern recognition module, for example. Undesirable image data is therefore excluded from the image data that is processed by the digital pathology image processing and analysis routine, which significantly improves the digital pathology image analysis.
