Abstract: A heat reclaim refrigeration system uses a first compressor to elevate the amount of latent heat reclaimable by the system and to reclaim this heat using heat reclaim means, such as heat reclaim coils, for practical applications, such as heating a building. In addition, the system reduces pressure required from a second compressor used for refrigeration, and energy consumed thereby, especially during cold periods of the year when a refrigerant condensing means has lower condensing requirements.

Abstract: A device for modifying electromagnetic illumination of a reflector aperture defined by a reflector surface is mounted in front of the reflector aperture in a spaced apart relationship relative to the reflector surface. The device at least partially covers the reflector aperture and provides an illumination control means for at least partially and selectively modifying electromagnetic illumination of the reflector aperture. The device may include a membrane-like substrate that is substantially transparent to electromagnetic radiation. A supporting member may support the substrate in the spaced apart relationship relative to the reflector surface.

Abstract: This invention describes a transfer stretcher, harness and method designed to lift, transfer or support a person, more specifically a heavy weight, large size (oversize) person. Stretchers are generally used by hospitals or by rescue/emergency units to lift or carry a person from one location to another. The transfer stretcher covered by the present invention is made of a supporting canvas equipped with lifting straps and rings, a removable washable comfort cloth, and maybe used with a removable safety harness that can be used with a stretcher basket and a sling frame. The transfer stretcher can be used to move a body manually with the help of several persons, or in combination with various lifting equipment.

Abstract: A continuous composter for continuously processing organic waste material from a generally heterogeneous state into a generally homogenous state. The composter includes a container rotatably mounted on a support frame about its longitudinal axis that defines an inner chamber containing an amount of the heterogeneous waste material for continuous circulation therein. An agitator located within the inner chamber is rotatably mounted on fixed end walls about its own longitudinal axis that is offset relative to the container axis. The agitator is located to selectively receive the circulated waste material from the rotating container, to separate the heterogeneous waste material into the homogenous waste material, and to aerate the homogenous waste material by projecting it within the chamber. Both the container and the agitator rotates in a same direction at a relatively slow and fast rotational speed respectively.

Abstract: A plant watering device for use in a growing medium, which comprises a base with an open top liquid receiving section with a discharge inlet aperture located therein. A medium engaging section is connected to the base and has a discharge outlet aperture communicating with the inlet aperture. A contamination prevention member for preventing contamination of the dispensing aperture is located adjacent thereto. A container with a discharge spout has an amount of a liquid contained therein and is filled on the base. The discharge spout is positioned into the liquid receiving section. A wick component is mounted in the liquid receiving section to receive the liquid from the container and extends between the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture to automatically deliver the liquid to the outlet aperture and into the growth medium at a controlled rate.

Abstract: Auxiliary wheelchair for disposing on a primary wheelchair. The auxiliary wheelchair includes first and second frame sections that are telescopically connected together. The second frame section is actuatable relative to the first frame section from a first support configuration to a second support configuration. The first support configuration is when the first frame section and the second frame section are spaced apart and a primary wheelchair seat supports the first and second frame sections. The second support configuration is when the second frame section is in contact engagement with a support surface and the first frame section is in contact engagement with the primary wheelchair seat so that the auxiliary wheelchair is supported by the primary wheelchair seat and the support surface.

Abstract: Microbicidal air filter for use with an air passageway, which includes an immobilization network including a plurality of fibers having an amount of at least one antimicrobial agent incorporated and molecularly bonded into a structure thereof sufficient to substantially immobilize, retain and at least inhibit the growth of, or typically kill, microbes suspended in a volume of air moving through the air passageway. The immobilization network is substantially permeable to air. A microbicidal facemask and a microbicidal air filter used in an air circulation system using the immobilization network are disclosed.

Abstract: A helical antenna has a helix supported by a helix support. The helix support includes at least one piece of flexible sheet having its two surfaces covered with a layer antistatic material. The flexible sheet is curlable into a revolution surface configuration to form a revolution surface-shaped support section for at least partially supporting a portion of the helix component there around. A grounding mechanism electrically grounds the external sheet surface to the helix and the two sheet surfaces to one another when in the revolution surface configuration while a locking mechanism locks the flexible sheet in the revolution surface configuration. The combination of the helix and the flexible support renders the antenna structurally relatively rigid in all directions.

Abstract: A method and device to protect a grinding mill used for grinding material therein by rotating the drum so that the material adheres to the drum inner surface and rises therewith over a cascading angle from a gravity-balanced condition prior to detach by gravity from the inner surface and tumble into a cascading flow. The method is used for protecting the grinding mill from damages potentially resulting from the material agglomerating into a generally solidified lumped volume that could adhere to the inner surface and rotate with the latter more than the cascading angle to a fail angle wherein the lumped volume may detach from the drum inner surface and impact an impact position within the drum.

Abstract: A device for selectively positioning a side wing relative to the side of a motor vehicle it is mounted on and to the adjacent road surface is disclosed. The device includes first and second longitudinal end members pivotally connected to the vehicle side and to a rearward end of the side wing about vertical axes; the front end of the wing is usually connected adjacent the front end of the vehicle. First and second elongate rams that are angularly positioned relative to one another are connected to the first and second end members. The first and second rams operate in parallel relative to each other for selective operation of the side wing from a position adjacent the vehicle side and away from the ground surface to a position in operative engagement with the road surface at an adjustable angle relative to the vehicle side.

The composite stud also includes a core component made of wood retainable in the base channel. The substantially rectangular configuration core component includes an insertion recess section forming a fifth wall thereof to allow insertion of the core component in the base channel both by sliding the core component longitudinally from an end section of the frame member and by a snap-like movement or action at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the frame member.

Abstract: A multistage proportional valve for controlling the pressure of a fluid inside a container includes a fluid outflow passageway having an exhaust opening, an actuatable fluid inflow passageway having an intake opening and an actuatable exhaust cover for selectively closing said exhaust opening. The fluid outflow passageway, actuatable fluid inflow passageway and actuatable exhaust cover are interconnected and configured such that in response to an actuating force reaching a first pre-determined threshold the valve displaces the exhaust cover to allow the fluid inside the container to exhaust there from through the fluid outflow passageway. In response to the actuating force reaching a second pre-determined threshold the valve displaces the fluid inflow passageway to allow pressurized fluid to flow there through inside the container.

Abstract: An adjusting device for a tool includes a body with two ends and a fluid filled passageway, which extends between the ends, one end of the body cooperates with a work piece. An actuating member is movably connected to one end of the body, communicates with the fluid in the passageway, and has a surface, which cooperates with the work piece. Another actuating member is movably connected to the other end of the body and communicates with the fluid, and moves the fluid against the first actuating member to extend it. The fluid is locked against the first actuating member so that it retains the work piece in the body end.
