  • Patent number: 8336429
Abstract: A test kit for unevenly worn sheave grooves, a tool for regrooving sheave grooves that are found to be unevenly worn, and a method for testing for and maintaining the sheave grooves utilizing the test kit and tool. The test kit includes magnetic standards which adhere to a sheave beneath the portion of the sheave touched by the ropes, facilitating testing without having to unrope the sheave. Unevenly worn sheave grooves are visually ascertained by holding a straightedge adjacent to the magnetic standards. The regrooving tool includes a shank that can be received by a stand set up next to the sheave, a body attached to the shank, and an interchangeable cutting insert received by the body that is inserted in the sheave groove. When the sheave is rotated, the sheave groove is ground by the cutting insert, with each groove being ground sequentially until all grooves are again uniform.

  • Patent number: 8011870
Abstract: A structure having floors for receiving and delivery of cars, and parking floors. Receiving and delivery floors have slat conveyors with platform carriers placed in slots in the conveyor. Cars are parked by patrons on the platform carriers. After the patron exits the car the conveyor conveys the carrier on which the car is parked to the front of an elevator. A power arm in the elevator draws the carrier into the elevator, and the elevator rises to a parking floor. On the parking floor the elevator power arm pushes the platform carrier with the car on top onto a waiting transfer module, which moves laterally to the front of an allotted parking slot. A power arm on the transfer module pushes the platform carrier with the car on top into the parking slot. Upon the patron's return the car is retrieved as described above but in reverse order.

  • Patent number: 7971611
Abstract: The combination waste dust extractor and support plate is intended to be used in combination with a conventional woodworking router when the router is used in an inverted position for bench or table use. The apparatus includes a router support plate with the dust extraction feature built into and included with this support plate. The combination support plate and dust extractor is affixed to the router and then both are suspended under the surface of a work table. The dust extraction feature is built into and included with the support plate as follows: within the plate is an internal chamber connecting the router bit opening on the top surface of the plate with an outlet at one corner of the bottom of the plate. A standard shop vacuum is attached to a hose fitting connected to the outlet. The attached shop vacuum creates suction around and beneath the router bit, drawing dust and particles through the chamber and into the attached shop vacuum.
