Abstract: After removal of a valve cap from an in line shut off valve the Retaining Snap Ring Adapter with male threads and seat at one end, female threads and seat at the other end, a hex outer surface at the female threaded end, a longitudinal passageway down its center, is designed to be permanently installed on an in line shut off valve having a threaded moveable plug (operator) and said Adapter will not interfere with the moveable operator which opens and closes the valve when turned by a hexagonal wrench. The Retaining Ring Adapter prevents an improperly back seated operator from being ejected as a deadly missile by the normal operating pressures. The Retaining Snap Ring Adapter having been permanently installed on the valve, the cap is returned to the valve but is now screwed onto the added Retaining Snap Ring Adapter which is essentially now part of the valve.
Abstract: An exteriorly soft body fishing lure (1) including an internal, insert member (200, 300, 400) to which are integrally attached two eyelets (210A/B, 310A/B, 410A/B) and a bib member (220, 320, 429). Abstract: A carpet fastening system and method of manufacture in which an exemplary two, complementary, substantially identical carpet fastening strips are fashioned along side, but opposed to, one another in interdigitated fashion from a single, longitudinally elongated or extended section of flat sheet metal in a cutting-bending process, each of which fastening strips (100, 200 & 300) is ultimately affixed to the back-side of the a wall board (10) or to a wall baseboard (8), preferably with its wall engagement tabs (101, 201 & 301) being substantially flat, presenting either a flat, face-to-face, extended surface interface (FIGS. 1A & 2A) with the back-side of the wall or at least preferably a continuous or at least substantially extended edge (FIG. 3A) in engagement with the back-side, bottom edge of the wall baseboard, in order to secure "wall-to-wall" type carpeting about the walls.
Abstract: An obstetrical combined disinfectant, clamp, cutter and containment system for umbilical cords, being housed in a comprehensive unit and having increased efficiency in the area of motion saving and exposure to infectious organisms during the birthing process and when exposure to infectious organisms is undesirable. A housing contains three umbilical clamps as part of the overall housing of the unit and two pair of serrated, cutting blades incorporated into the housing by way of bonding to the housing structure of the unit. After the baby's umbilical cord is placed horizontally in the unit, the disinfectant makes contact with the cutting sites of the umbilical cord, followed by the closing of the unit, simultaneously clamping and cutting the cord, whereafter the unit is twisted at the perforated midpoint, separating the fetal umbilical stump from the maternal end of the umbilical cord.
Abstract: A flingable, disk-like, flying toy (10) having a series of preferably bendable, radially inwardly directed vanes (13) extending out of the plane (11) of the disk, which can cause the toy to spiral and/or return to the user like a boomerang. The throwing disc has an open center (12), in which there is included about and in the inner, circular periphery the series of generally triangular, radially and inwardly arrayed, upwardly protruding fins or generally triangularly-shaped vanes or upwardly bent cut-outs (13) extending into the circular opening, which cause the disc to alter the normal path of a classic "Frisbee" type design, for example, causing the disc to spiral or to tend to return to the thrower. The vanes can be bent further inwardly or outwardly, i.e., up and down, about fold lines (14) to significantly vary the aerodynamic characteristics of the flying disc toy.
Abstract: A cover-less binder assembly system for binding together a series of sheet materials, such as, for example, paper for business reports and the like by an office worker, with the binding typically being done along one edge using a simple, cover-less and guide-less spine (10). A separate, temporary guide (20) is temporarily provided for initially guiding the sheet material or papers into the binding spine or member to be adhered thereto, after which the combination of the spine (with the edge-inserted sheet materials) and the temporary guide are placed in a heating unit for binding the sheet materials to the spine with hot melt glue. Thereafter the bound materials are removed from the separate guide, which can thereafter be re-used in connection with other materials to be bound and a different spine. A preferred guide member includes two diverging side panels (22) forming a "V" shape leading into a trapezoidal-shaped bottom in which the spine is positioned but otherwise unattached or connected.

Abstract: Trans-dichloroethylene is used in a pure or in a blended state as a cleaning agent for all acetate-based photographic films. In manual cleaning procedures of still-photography and motion-picture films, a soft, lint-free material is moistened with trans-dichloroethylene, or a blend containing trans-dichloroethylene, and then used to buff the film. The most favorable blend discovered contains 50% trans-dichloroethylene, 50% perchloroethylene. In mechanized cleaning procedures of motion-picture films, it is anticipated that trans-dichloroethylene, or a blend containing trans-dichloroethylene, can be used as the cleaning agent with little or no modification to the existing machines. Trans-dichloroethylene can serve as an effective, non-ozone depleting replacement for 1,1,1-trichloroethane in all film-cleaning applications.
