Abstract: Semi-conductive compositions, based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers or chlorinated products thereof, containing carbon black, a silicone compound and an interface crosslink inhibitor, such as a phenol, a quinone, a thiazole or a thiuram sulfide, which find utility as semi-conductive layers about crosslinked polyolefin substrates of electrical conductors.
Abstract: This invention relates to chewing insect toxicant compositions comprising (1) a 1-(mono-substituted phenyl)-3-benzoyl urea compound in admixture with (2) an amount sufficient to enhance the chewing insect toxicity of said urea compound of a phosphorous-containing compound. This invention is also directed to chewing insect toxicant compositions comprising an acceptable carrier and as the active toxicant an effective amount of the composition of this invention as well as to a method of controlling insects by subjecting them to an effective amount of the composition of this invention.
Abstract: Novel bicyclooxyphenyl ureas, such as 1-(bicyclooxyphenyl)-benzoyl ureas, are provided which exhibit pesticidal activity. The compositions are conveniently prepared by reacting an isocyanate with either an amide or a bicyclooxyaniline.
Abstract: A process for the production of 2,5-dichloro-3-nitrobenzoic acid which comprises reacting 2,5-dichloro-3-nitro-p-xylene in a saturated aliphatic carboxylic acid solvent with oxygen at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst system which comprises a transition metal oxidation catalyst and a bromine promoter.
Abstract: Novel derivatives of bicyclic 2-iminothiazolidine oximes and methods of preparing same. This invention is also directed to an insecticidal composition comprising an acceptable carrier and an insecticidally effective amount of a compound of this invention, as well as to a method of controlling insects which comprises subjecting the insects to an insecticidally effective amount of a compound of this invention.

Abstract: A high output extruder screw which produces throughputs at lower temperatures and lower specific energy input. The screw has a feed section, a first short transition section, a first metering section, a second short transition section and a second metering section wherein the screw diameter increases from the feed section to the second metering section. There is also provided a method for extruding specific ethylene polymers.
Abstract: A novel class of N-aminosulfenyl carbamate compositions have outstanding insecticidal and miticidal properties coupled with very low toxicity to mammals and important economic crops.
