Abstract: Described herein are non-steroidal ligands for the estrogen receptor which possess tissue-dependent estrogenic and antiestrogenic activity as well as methods for making the same and their applications in treating a variety of disease states.
Abstract: The use of particular opioids to induce and maintain anesthesia and conscious sedation is disclosed. The opioids used in the method of the present invention relate to the anesthetic action of the N-phenyl-N-(4-piperidinyl)amides as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,019,583 to Feldman, et al.
Abstract: Novel piperidinyl intermediates as set forth below wherein R, R.sup.1 and Ar are as set forth in the specification and W is either hydrogen or benzyloxycarbonyl. The intermediates are useful in the preparation of N-phenyl-N-(4-piperidinyl) amides having potent analgesic activity.
