Abstract: A water-resistant connector for use with fabric and sheet-like material comprises two plates stitched to each other on either side of and through the fabric or sheet-like material with at least one gasket made of an elastomeric material such as neoprene being placed between one of the plates and the fabric or sheet-like material. The gasket is stitched through and compressed between the plates so as to press against the stitching for water resistance. A suitable elastomeric material is a sheet of elastomeric compound adhered to either side of a reinforcing scrim. A rain cover for a camera and lens includes a water-resistant connector attached on the outside to a neck strap and on the inside to a strap system secured to the camera and lens whereby the camera and lens can be supported by the neck strap when the rain cover is protecting the camera and lens. A gasket may be provided encircling an eyepiece of the camera.

Abstract: A system for carrying articles on a user's belt, comprising a belt (10) having multiple loops (22) on its outside surface and an article carrier (1) having a sleeve (40) sewn to the body of the carrier at a first end (42) and detachably connected to the body of the carrier at a second end (44). A stiff tab (60) is sewn at one end thereof into the sewn connection of the body of the carrier to the sleeve. The other end of the tab (64) is unattached and overlapped by the sleeve when the sleeve is wrapped around the belt for supporting the carrier from the belt. The carrier can be moved along the belt and placed in different positions unless the free end of the tab is inserted through a loop on the belt in which case the carrier will be fixed in position with respect to the belt.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for educating and entertaining people, such as children, in which the image and voice of a known person are incorporated into a stock medium such as a video or a doll. In the case of children such as toddlers, the known person may be a caregiver, such as a parent, and the recorded voice and the image of at least the face of the caregiver are incorporated into the medium.

Abstract: An arrow fletching system having a continuous roll or individual lengths of base material to which is applied a series of fins or vane segments. The benefit of this fletching system is that an arrow can be fletched with an equal number of vane segments in each fletching area without measuring and/or weighing each of the sections. This results in a balanced arrow which can be easily modified to add or reduce the number of segments. Fins or vane segments may by slitted for greater flexibility along their top edges.

Abstract: A system for carrying articles from a belt worn on the body of a person or other animate bearer comprises a belt or elongated member (20) with a substantially planar rail (30) borne on the outside surface of the belt and a carrier (50) for articles attached to the rail by a sleeve sewn to the body of the carrier. The carrier (50) may be free to slide along the rail (30) or may be secured at least temporarily to the rail. The carrier (50) thereby can be moved along the rail when worn on the belt so that the bearer can place the carrier (50) in a more comfortable or useful position with respect to the body of the bearer and secure it in that position at least temporarily.

Abstract: A trowel for finishing the top of concrete stem walls around protruding anchor bolts has a finishing surface in the form of a blade or block attached to a handle. An opening in the form of a notch or a hole is provided in the blade or block for accommodating an anchor bolt. The trowel may be provided with means to position the anchor bolt vertically and horizontally in addition to finishing the concrete around the anchor bolt. The trowel may also have a curved side edge for rounding the concrete where it contacts the form.

Abstract: A removable self-supporting article organizer assembly contains at least one panel having pockets for storing articles such as pens, business cards, floppy disks, papers and the like and is sized to fit within a compartment in a carrying case. The article organizer assembly may be constructed from two or more spaced panels joined by flexible side walls and end walls defining further pockets for containing files. A hinged flap attached to one of the panels of the article organizer provides a means for supporting the article organizer in a generally upright position when the article organizer is removed from the carrying case. A carrying case adapted to contain the article organizer has a pocket on an internal wall of the carrying case within the compartment.

Abstract: A device is provided for writing in the dark which has the external appearance of a book. Inside the book, a box is attached to the inside of one of the covers. The box contains a continuous strip paper supply which is drawn from underneath an illuminated translucent panel through channels that lead the paper over the translucent panel and under a lid which guides the paper across the pane so that the paper may be drawn out from the box. The lid has an opening through which the user may write on the paper. When in use, the box provides sufficient light so that the user can see to write on the paper yet does not provide so much light that others attempting to sleep nearby are disturbed. The covers may be folded over the box to give the device the appearance of a book.
