  • Patent number: 5429075
Abstract: A combination leash apparatus for controlling the movements of an animal and retaining a flashlight includes a flexible elongate member having a first end and a second end, and a collar engagement structure at the first end and a handle portion at the second end; and a tubular retaining member attached to the elongate member for removably retaining a flashlight. The apparatus preferably additionally includes a supplemental compartment secured to the tubular retaining sleeve for retaining personal items. The elongate member preferably additionally includes a flat, flexible strap member. The collar engagement structure preferably includes a resiliently urged clasp assembly. The handle portion preferably includes a loop formed of the second end of the elongate member doubled back against and fastened to the elongate member. The tubular retaining member preferably includes a closed end having an end wall and an open end for receiving the flashlight.

  • Patent number: 5421753
Abstract: This invention relates to a marine jet drive having improved operation, especially in regard to having efficient adaptation to propulsion engine and hull design; having a drive shaft with flexible coupling at each end, internal to the jet drive; having through-the-nozzle engine exhaust; having simplified, combined means of steering and reversing; having controllable nozzle aperture and trim control; having combination reverse flow deflector and trim plane; having means to disengage the engine from the jet to obtain true neutral; having protection from and removal of debris in the water intake duct; generally having fewer overhauls, easier serviceability and lighter weight.

  • Patent number: 5375814
Abstract: A jack apparatus for lifting an object along a substantially vertical path includes a base structure including a guide structure and an axle, a first member having a first end and a second end and a midsection, and constrained at the first end to slide along the guide structure and adapted at the second end to engage the object, the first member having a certain length, a second member pivotally connected to the midsection of the first member and extending a distance substantially half the certain length to pivotally connect to the axle, a drive mechanism for propelling the first end of the first member along the guide mechanism toward the axle to swing the first member progressively toward a vertical position, thereby lifting the object engaged at the second end of the first member. The drive mechanism is preferably a hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5348265
Abstract: This invention consists of a parent structure and a stabilized supported secondary structure with one or more supporting pressurized gas cushions disposed between them. Selective control of pressures in the supporting pressurized gas cushions insures that the secondary structure is maintained in a desired orientation regardless of the orientation of the parent structure. This particularly attractive for stabilization of passenger cabins in boats but is also applicable of trains, airplanes, and even non-vehicular applications where there is tilting or other movement of the parent structure. An attractive application is to gas cushion supported marine craft since such craft already have a gas pressurization system in place. A pressure regulating device controls pressures in the supporting gas cushions.
