The compositions of the present invention comprise a polyoxyalkylene alkyl amide surface active agent which provides increased softness to fabrics, increased stability and formulatability to dispersed phase liquids, and provide for a reduced level of principal solvent when formulated into translucent or clear liquid compositions.
