Abstract: The present invention provides a multiple station tooling machine for the production of spirally grooved products and includes a base plate, a plurality of work stations distributed around the base plate and operable to effect selected tooling operations on work pieces, a support stand coupled to the base plate and supporting a support plate, and a turntable disposed above the support plate, the turntable being iteratively angularly movable. The multiple station tooling machine also includes a plurality of workpiece retaining elements and an actuating assembly including drive motors mounted on the support plate for moving the workpiece retaining elements to and between selected orientations. A plurality of generally vertical shafts each has a respective workpiece retaining element secured to one end thereof.
Abstract: In order to achieve temperature distribution, in particular a homogeneous temperature distribution in, for example, a substrate during a thermal treatment process of said substrate, a method is disclosed for the thermal treatment of substrates, in particular semi-conductor wafers, in a process chamber comprising at least one temperature distribution influencing element located in the process chamber. During thermal treatment, the spatial arrangement of the element is altered relative to the substrate and/or to the process chamber. A device for the thermal treatment of substrates in a process chamber is also disclosed, comprising at least one temperature distribution influencing element located in a process chamber wherein a device is provided in order to alter the spatial arrangement of the element relative to the substrate and/or to the process chamber during the thermal treatment process.
Abstract: An intake device having an intake channel that includes an intake channel section is provided. A butterfly valve is pivotably mounted in the intake channel section. A dividing wall is disposed downstream of the butterfly valve and divides the intake channel section into an air duct and a mixture duct. The air duct has a flow cross-section that is greater than the flow cross-section of the mixture duct. A fuel jet opens into the mixture duct.
Abstract: The invention relates to a furniture drive (2) for adjusting parts of a piece of furniture in relation to one another which is configured as a dual drive. Said drive comprises two drive units (4, 4?), every drive unit (4, 4?) being provided with a linearly displaceable drive element that is functionally linked with a pivoted lever for pivoting said lever in the mounting position of the furniture drive. Said pivoted lever in turn is functionally linked with a part of the piece of furniture to be adjusted. The drive according to the invention is further characterized in that the linearly displaceable drive element or a support element (24) linked therewith is provided with a support surface (26) for supporting the pivoted lever (18) in a position remote from its pivot axis (16) in the mounting position of the furniture drive (2), which surface is inclined with respect to the axis of motion (29) of the drive element.
Abstract: The invention relates to a ferrite antenna, comprising at least one winding (4), which is arranged around a core (2) consisting of ferrite material. A second core (3), consisting of ferrite material and running coaxially to the first core (2), is allocated to the first core (2), which carries the winding (4) and is rigidly fixed in the coil carrier (1). Said second core, which can be displaced in an axial direction in the same coil carrier (1), is positioned in such a way that the opposing front faces of the two cores are placed at a predetermined distance from one another. Said distance can be altered by displacing the second core (3) in an axial direction in order to tune the antenna. After tuning, the second core (3) can be fixed in or on the coil carrier (1).
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a molded part that is deep drawn from a thermoplastic foil. An outer surface of the thermoplastic foil is provided with a positive depth structure, under the effect of heat and pressure, by means of a stamping or embossing roller that has a negative depth structure. In at least one extent of a surface of the embossing roller, the negative depth structure of the roller is compressed in such surface regions thereof that effect a stretching of the foil during deep drawing. Subsequently, at least a portion of the foil is deep drawn.
Abstract: A method is provided for converting feedwater to fresh water utilizing existing water pressures and high flow rates. At least one reverse osmosis unit is disposed in a feedwater supply conduit. Feedwater is conveyed through the supply conduit and the reverse osmosis unit at a pressure that exceeds the osmotic pressure for solids dissolved in the feedwater. A first stream of fresh water is withdrawn from the reverse osmosis unit as permeate, and a second stream is withdrawn therefrom as effluent. The effluent is returned to, or continues to flow in, the supply conduit downstream of the reverse osmosis unit.

Abstract: A series of fabricated products for electrically rotatably driven machines, especially alternating current motors for attachment on drives, for alternating current motors having various pole configurations and operable in differing performance classes, voltage classes, and frequency classes, includes a plurality of trunk motors each having a motor housing, a motor terminal box for the provision of electrical current to stator windings mounted in a rotationally symmetrical manner in the motor housing, and a rotor. The rotor has a shaft supported on a bearing bracket. The trunk motor also includes a drive side, a non-drive side, and a shaft end extending outwardly from the non-drive side adapted for the securement thereto of a plurality of differing attachment shafts.
Abstract: A bar lock for a locking system is provided, and comprises a lock body having guide slots and two recessed areas symmetrically disposed on opposite sides between the guide slots and separated from one another by a central member. Two lock bars are received in the guide slots and have engagement openings. Two spaced apart pinions are received in the recessed areas. Rotation of the pinions is converted into a longitudinal displacement of the lock bars. The pinions are positively interconnected via a plug.
Abstract: A tool head of a trimmer is provided, and has a gear mechanism housing and a rotatably drivable tool shaft that is mounted in the housing. Held upon the tool shaft is a hub portion that rotates with the tool shaft. On that side that faces the hub portion, the tool head is provided with at least one stripping edge, which has a radial component that extends from the inside to the outside, and which projects beyond the contour of the hub portion.
Abstract: To achieve a uniform coating of a substrate, with an apparatus and a method for coating substrates, according to which the substrate is supported on a substrate holder in such a way that a substrate surface that is to be coated is exposed, and the substrate is rotated together with the substrate holder, a cover can be secured to the substrate holder and together with the substrate holder forms a sealed chamber for the substrate.

Abstract: A securement arrangement for a seat belt closure of a three-point seat belt system in a vehicle comprises an anchor piece secured to the vehicle, a closure body, and a generally U-shaped closure body retaining assembly for mounting the closure body on the anchor piece. A spring disposed between a pair of U-forming legs of the closure body retaining assembly biases the closure body into its home position. A contact element emits a signal to be processed by an onboard signal processing unit when the closure body, due to the application thereto of a load imposed by the seat belt, is displaced so as to overcome the biasing force of the spring. The contact element correspondingly moves out of contact and emits a signal in response to its movement out of contact.
Abstract: The invention relates to the purification of untreated water which is polluted with dissolved organic carbon compounds which can be biologically or adsorptively removed in a three-step process, whereby the upstream purification step is predominantly biological, i.e. operates as a biofilter (1), and both subsequent purification steps are predominantly adsorptive in nature, i.e. operate as adsorbers (2, 3). The biofilter (1) is purified by backwashing, whereby the backwashing periods occur according to the TOC determined between the biofilter (1) and the upstream adsorber (2) and/or running time and/or pressure loss. The upstream adsorber (2) is also cleaned by backwashing and is subsequently shifted into a downstream position alternating with the other adsorber (3). The method is suitable for obtaining TOC concentrations in treated water of less than 500 ppb.
Abstract: Apparatus suitable for use in reciprocally opening and closing a camshaft-actuated valve may include a rotating camshaft (20) having first and second cams (16, 17, 18) respectively defining first and second amounts of valve opening distance. A cam follower (10, 11, 12) may be defined on a mounting pin (24) so as to operatively engage the first and second cams in an alternating manner. At a first rotational position of the cam follower relative to the camshaft, the cam follower operatively engages the first cam and generates the first amount of valve opening distance. At a second rotational position, the cam follower operatively engages the second cam and generates the second amount of valve opening distance. A valve lever (6) transmits the respective generated first and second amounts of valve opening distance to the valve. A locking device (50) releasably locks the mounting pin and cam follower in the respective first and second rotational positions.
Abstract: A two-cycle engine is provided and has a cylinder with a combustion chamber delimited by a reciprocating piston. The engine has an inlet for fuel/air mixture, an outlet out of the combustion chamber for exhaust gas, and four transfer channels that open into the cylinder via inlet windows, and fluidically connect the crankcase with the combustion chamber as a function of the piston position. The transfer channels have a connecting portion to the crankcase, an ascending portion substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, and an opening-out portion into the combustion chamber. The planes defined by that side wall of the transfer channel close to the outlet that is remote from the outlet, and by the side wall of the transfer channel remote from the outlet that is close to the outlet, intersect in a line extending on the side of the mirror plane facing the transfer channels.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for measuring the temperature of substrates, notably semiconductor wafers. The device comprises at least one radiation sensor for measuring the radiation emitted by the substrate and an element (19) which restricts the field of vision of the radiation sensor and is positioned between the substrate and the radiation sensor. The substrate temperature can be determined correctly and simply, even if the substrate vibrates or is tilting, owing to the fact that the edges (20) of the element extend in a straight line. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
Abstract: A blower having a discharge tube, which can be secured to a housing, for guiding a stream of air is provided. The air stream flows in a main stream direction in the discharge tube and in a discharge stream direction out of the discharge tube. The discharge stream direction forms an angle of greater than 0° with the main stream direction. The discharge stream direction has a transverse component that extends perpendicular to the main stream direction, which produces a force in the discharge tube perpendicular to the main stream direction. To reduce the transverse force produced in the discharge tube, a partial air stream is branched off out of the discharge tube and flows in a partial stream direction that has a compensation component that is directed opposite to the transverse component.
Abstract: A picking store for piece goods is disclosed, which comprises a storage area (1), with a number of storage racks (7), for the goods to be picked, arranged parallel to each other, whereby only goods of the same type are found in each rack, a placing area (2), at one end of the storage racks (7), with a means for depositing new goods in the appropriate storage rack (7) and a picking area at the other end of the storage racks (7) with a withdrawing device (4) for computer controlled transfer of individual items from the storage racks to the serial conveyor. Each storage rack comprises a roller conveyor (8), whose rollers or cylinders may be set in rotation by a common drive system (16) and each storage rack (7) has its own, independently operable withdrawing device (4). The drive system (16) for the roller conveyer is preferably a drive belt.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding blasting shots into the central area of a centrifugal wheel (1) in a shot blasting system via a feed pipe (3), whereby a distributing bushing (7) comprising a distributing opening (8) is provided in the central region thereof. An impeller (9) comprising discharge openings (11) rotates in the distributing bushing (7) together with the centrifugal wheel (1), wherein the shots which are to be accelerated enter in an axial direction, the feed pipe (3) for the shots discharges into the impeller (9) and is provided with a ring-shaped tongue (10) which protrudes into the impeller (9) in the region of the distributing opening (8).
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a cylinder in a two-cycle engine. The cylinder bore is first machined as a preparation for the provision of a coating. The thereby resulting window edges that surround an inlet window are then at least partially chamfered. The cylinder bore is consequently provided with the coating, which at least partially overlaps the chamfered window edge. There thereby results in the region of the window edge a location of least spacing relative to the axis of the transfer channel. The piston liner or gliding surface is finally machined to a finished dimension such that in the region of the chamfered and coated window edge or corner there is formed a coating edge having a wall spacing relative to the location of least spacing, which such wall spacing having a maximum value of 0.7 mm.
