  • Patent number: 7141261
Abstract: A novel process for extracting pectin from waste hull/hypocotyl streams during soybean processing is shown. Chemical extracting agents in addition to or in conjunction with heat and agitation are used to extract pectin from the waste streams. The pectin is then precipitated in alcohol, washed and dried. A process for whitening the extracted pectin is also shown.

  • Patent number: 7134455
Abstract: An insulating apparatus for use with vacuum insulated tubing sting to reduce heat loss through the joints, where the apparatus includes an insulator adapted to surround the joint and a latching joint protector adapted to surround the insulator and hold the insulator against the joint, where the protector also includes a channel for receiving injection and/or control tubing. The insulator is capable of reducing heat loss through the joints of a vacuum insulated tubing string by as much as 95%.

  • Patent number: 7055326
Abstract: A cascade power system is disclosed where a single basic working composition (BWC) of a multi-component working fluid stream is fully vaporized in a vaporization subsystem utilizing heat derived from a heat source stream such as a combustion gas stream and energy is extracted from the stream in a multi-stage energy extraction system. The energy extraction subsystem is designed to produce a fully spent BWC stream and a partially spent BWC stream. The fully spend BWC stream is then divided into a fully condensed lean stream and a fully condensed rich stream in a Condensation-Thermal Compression Subsystem. The partially spent stream and stream derived therefrom are used to form a second lean stream and a second rich stream and to heat the fully condensed lean stream and a combined rich stream prior to vaporization.
