Abstract: A multilateral modular structure having fastening devices for connection to similar structures, the fastening devices including the module member having surfaces terminating in edges, a tab extending outwardly from an edge of and being offset from said member, the tab being connected to the member by a hinge integral with the member and the tab, the tab having one surface extending outwardly from said edge alignable with one surface of the member, the tab having an opposite surface to its said one surface unaligned with a surface of the member, and a connecting pin adjacent said edge from which the tab extends, the pin extending and supported from said one surface of the member, said opposite surface of said tab being transversely alignable with said pin, said tab having an opening therethrough, said opening having an axis generally parallel to the axis of the pin.
Abstract: A method of flushing a toilet for aircraft or the line using vacuum and pressure, in which there is a toilet or other waste receiving bowl, a waste the holding tank, and a valve means for opening or closing the drain line. A vacuum is created in the waste holding tank and the drain line. The drain line is closed or opened by the action of the valve means. In the method the valve means is actuated by vacuum to open the drain line to connect the bowl to the holding tank to apply vacuum on the bowl to suck the contents from the bowl and deliver it to the holding tank. When the bowl has been emptied, pressure is applied to the valve means for closing the drain line to again build up vacuum in the system for subsequent operation.
Abstract: A power driven twin trowel cement finishing machine in which two sets of counter rotating troweling blades have intersecting circular trowling area, each set of troweling blades being carried by a rotatable shaft upon which the blades are supported and arranged for remote relative adjustments from a guiding handle of the sets of troweling blades to vary their troweling angle with respect to the associated cement surface. The two sets of troweling blade assemblies have their rotatable shafts supported for relative tilting movements in opposite directions from a normal generally vertical position to selectively oppositely inclined planes of rotation of the sets of troweling blades in a manner to generate reactive blade forces that will be operative to bodily propel the machine either in a forward or reverse direction, while permitting manual lateral controlled movements of the machine by means of the guiding handle.
