Abstract: The present invention relates to an ink cartridge with a handle for inkjet printers. The ink cartridge includes a cartridge housing (1) having hook-avoidance grooves (2) with a proper depth and corresponding to the pulling hooks (11) of the locking cover (10) of the printhead, and a handle (3) disposed on an upper surface of the ink cartridge body (1). The structure of the handle (3) is in a form of double-folding type. Alternatively, the handle can also be in a form of single straight flip-down type construction. Because of the handle structure, the present invention is not only able to relieve the installation and removal of the ink cartridge from excessive reliance on the locking cover of the print head, but also to make the ink cartridge installation and removal more natural, positive and user controlled.

Abstract: Disclosed is an alanine racemase chiral binaphthol derivative having the ability to recognize amino alcohols selectively on the basis of chirality and transform amino acids from an L-form into a D-form. Methods for the optical resolution of amino acid or amino alcohol and for the optical transformation of D- and L-forms of amino acids using the binaphthol derivative are also provided.

Abstract: There is provided a relay device which enables improved communication quality and cost-reduction, wherein the device carries out both real-time communications and non-real-time communications. A first communicator carries out packet communications with a first real-time communication device and a first non-real-time communication device, which are connected through an external network. A second communicator accommodates a second real-time communication device included in an internal network. A_third_communicator_accommodates_a second_non-real-time communication device included in the internal network. A connection_controller_controls_a_connection_of the_first_and_second real-time communication devices. A timing checker detects a timing before the connection between the first and second real-time communication_devices,_and_a_timing_after_the disconnection_between them by monitoring operations of the connection controller.

Abstract: A data transmitting method for inputting a data signal to an electronic device. The data signal includes first and second sets of data, and the electronic device includes first to fourth receiving units and corresponding first to fourth registers. The transmitting method includes the following steps. First, the first and second receiving units are disabled. Then, the first set of data is inputted to the electronic device through the third and fourth receiving units and stored in the third and fourth registers during a first clock cycle of a clock signal. Thereafter, the second set of data is inputted to the electronic device through the third and fourth receiving units and stored in the third and fourth registers while the first set of data stored in the third and fourth registers is inputted to the first and second registers during a second clock cycle of the clock signal.

The Group III nitride semiconductor layered structure includes: a p-type cladding layer and an n-type cladding layer; an In-containing p-type guide layer and an In-containing n-type guide layer held between the p-type cladding layer and the n-type cladding layer; and an In-containing light emitting layer held between the p-type guide layer and the n-type guide layer.

Abstract: A power output mechanism for power tools includes a main part for driving an output shaft, a switch unit, an impact unit, a pressing unit, and an operation member. The switch unit has a rotation collar for controlling positions of positioning springs. The impact unit includes an orientation wheel movably connected to the output shaft and an operation wheel secured to the output shaft. The orientation wheel includes a first toothed contact surface which is removably engaged with a second toothed contact surface of the operation wheel. A corrugated ring portion is defined on an outer periphery of the orientation wheel and limited from rotation relative to the output shaft when the positioning springs are moved to certain positions. When the positioning springs are engaged with the orientation wheel, the orientation wheel cannot freely rotate relative to the output shaft so that an impact is output.

Abstract: An apparatus for sampling clock recovery (SCO) and methods for estimating and compensating SCO are provided. The apparatus comprises a symbol timing adjustment module for shifting forward or backward symbol timing of the transmitted OFDM symbols; a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) processor for performing DFT to an output from the symbol timing adjustment module; a channel estimator for undertaking a channel frequency response estimation based on a channel estimation sequence; a SCO phase rotator for receiving and performing phase shift on the transmitted OFDM symbols of a frame header and a frame payload; an SCO estimation stage for undertaking an SCO estimation based on a pilot-subcarrier-related output of the SCO phase rotator and the CFR estimation; and an SCO compensation distributor for dividing the SCO estimation into integer and fractional portions and then distributing them into the symbol timing adjustment module and the SCO phase rotator, respectively.

Abstract: An ejection device is manufactured independently from but implemented with a subscriber identification module (SIM) connector comprising an insulative housing and a tray having a SIM card mounted therein and has a bracket, a push button, a link and an ejection lever. The push button is mounted slidably on the bracket. The link is mounted slidably on the bracket and is connected with the push button. The ejection lever is mounted pivotally to the bracket, is connected with the link and selectively pushes the SIM card out of the tray. The ejection device may be pre-fabricated or formed with the connector so can be easily retrofitted to current designs or added simply to any SIM card connector and greatly facilitates SIM card removal while benefiting from reduced production costs from simplification and greater economies of scale.

Abstract: A bi-stable projection screen includes a light diffusion unit and a bi-stable display unit stacked together. The bi-stable display unit, when actuated, selectively operates in a first mode or a second mode. When operating in the first mode (e.g., a transmission mode or a reflection mode), the bi-stable display unit receives a projection light from a front projection or a rear projection, and emits the projection light after modulation. When operating in the second mode (a non-transmission mode or a non-reflection mode), the bi-stable display unit is a pattern to become a part of a scene. The light diffusion unit receives and diffuses the modulated projection light to be perceived by human eyes.

Abstract: An image sharpening apparatus for sharpening an original image is disclosed. The image sharpening apparatus includes a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter, an edge detector, a sharpening parameter generating unit and an operating unit. The low-pass filter, the high-pass filter and the edge detector receive the original image and respectively output a low frequency image, a high frequency image and several edge detecting values. The sharpening parameter generating unit receives the edge detecting values and outputs corresponding sharpening parameters, respectively. The operating unit adjusts the high frequency image according to these sharpening parameters, outputs an adjusted high frequency image, and combines the adjusted high frequency image with the low frequency image to obtain an edge-sharpened output image.

Abstract: An apparatus of generating optical tweezers with momentum is provided for providing optical tweezers with a first momentum on a test piece. The apparatus comprises a laser source, a diffractive optical element (DOE) and a lens. The laser source is for outputting a laser beam. The DOE has a first phase-delay picture, and the laser beam forms a diffraction pattern after passing the first phase-delay picture. The lens is for receiving and focusing the diffraction pattern on the test piece to form the first optical tweezers with the first momentum. The lens has an optical axis intersecting the DOE at an optical intersection point, a geometric center of the phase-delay picture has a displacement vector relative to the optical intersection point and a direction of the first momentum is related to a direction of the displacement vector.

Abstract: A receiver terminal, like a mobile apparatus or a mobile phone, downloads a multimedia message from a message center via a network. An arrival notification is first transmitted from the message center to the receiver terminal. In the notification, a length of the multimedia message is identified. The receiver terminal, however, checks a portion of the multimedia message downloaded to ensure the actual size indicated by the portion of the multimedia message is consistent with the length identified by the notification. If there is problem, users are inquired for confirmation to determine whether to continue downloading the rest portion of the multimedia message.

Abstract: A phase change memory (PCM) cell fabricated by etching a tapered structure into a phase change layer, and planarizing a dielectric layer on the phase change layer until a tip of the tapered structure is exposed for contacting a heating electrode. Therefore, the area of the exposed tip of the phase change layer is controlled to be of an extremely small size, the contact area between the phase change layer and the heating electrode is reduced, thereby lowering the operation current.

Abstract: A display panel driver has two driver circuits that drive separate halves of a display panel. Each driver circuit occupies a separate integrated circuit chip. The driver has a screen saving mode in which each driver circuit displays an independent screen saving image that moves in synchronization with a timing signal. The timing signal is generated in one driver circuit and transmitted by a chip-to-chip interface to the other driver circuit. The two screen saving images are thereby coordinated to create what appears to be a single screen saving display.

Abstract: A method for protecting content of vector graphics formats is provided. A first vector graphics is scrambled to generate a second vector graphics. Then a plurality of pixel samplings are performed by the first vector graphics which generating at least a recovery information object according to a predetermined graphics. The predetermined graphics is watermarked to generate a watermark object. And the recovery information object is encoded and embedded in the watermark object to generate a recovery information watermark. Finally, the second vector graphics, the recovery information watermark, and the recovery code are combined to generate a protected first vector graphics.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for detecting a preamble packet in an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system, including: a cross-correlation calculating means for calculating a cross-correlation value between a received signal and previously stored preamble pattern values for an OFDM symbol region (N-point); a delay means for delaying the calculate cross-correlation value as much as a M-point interval; a receiving power measuring means for measuring a receiving power for the guard interval; and a dividing means for calculating a final cross-correlation value by dividing the delayed cross correlation value by the measured power.
