Abstract: An improved process is disclosed for producing alumino-silicates having a porous structure, of the zeolite class, the process essentially comprising the step of preparing a homogeneous aqueous mixture containing a source of alumina, a source of silica and alkali metal bases and/or alkaline earth metal bases, the improvement consisting in adding to said mixture at least one substance which contains at least a hydroxyl group in its molecule. The advantages are that the use of nitrogenous organic substances, universally used heretofore for the preparation of certain zeolites, can be dispensed with inasmuch as the alkali metal ion is capable, alone, of displaying the counter-ion function.

Abstract: In the preparation of aromatic urethans, a dialkyl carbonate is reacted with an N-acyl derivative of an amine: thus, for example, by reacting acetanilide with a lower dialkyl carbonate, such as DMC or DEC, in the presence of titanium tetraphenate (Lewis' acid), phenylmethyl urethan is obtained with a yield over 90%. No toxic reactants are used and the reaction has outstandingly high yields and conversion ratings. The urethane in question are useful as weed-killers and pesticides in agriculture.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for removing acidic gaseous components from natural gases, this method comprising an initial desulfurization stage employing a selective solvent, then removing carbon dioxide by low temperature distillation, the carbon dioxide providing the cooling effect required for such a condensation, recovering the solvent, absorbing the residual carbon dioxide with the regenerated solvent and recycling the CO.sub.2 -laden solvent to the desulfurization stage.
