Abstract: A decorative glass window product (10) including: (a) a sheet of glass (12); (b) a metal design component (14) in the form of a unitary, pre-cast, reticulated came network (16, 18), the design component (14) being bonded on its inner surface (22) to one side of the sheet of glass (12); and (c) a thin layer of an elastomeric adhesive (24) bonding the design component (14) to the sheet of glass (12). A process for making a decorative glass window product (10) including the steps of: (a) casting a unitary, reticulated metal came network (16, 18); (b) subjecting the reticulated came network (16, 18) to a finishing process wherein the color or finish of the came network is changed; and (c) elastomerically bonding the came network (16, 18) to one side of a continuous sheet of glass (12).

Abstract: The cutter mechanism for slitting laminate material interconnecting overlapping borders of adjacent articles includes an elongated body that has a pair of upwardly-extending guide feet on opposite ends along one edge of the body and downwardly-extending guide feet on opposite ends adjacent the other edge with a generally rectangular slot between the respective feet and extending from opposite ends. The slots have bases which extend perpendicular to the opposite edges and thus perpendicular to the path of movement of the cutter means to provide sharp cutting edges between the respective feet.

Abstract: An earphone for a wireless communication system having a transceiver unit for converting electrical signals to audio signals and coupling the audio signals through the earphone includes a shallow cup that has a communication passage between the exterior and interior with a closure member biased to a first position for sealing the communication passage and having a switch manipulatable to move the closure member from the position position to provide voice communication through the communication passage.

Abstract: A depilation device includes a laser beam generator 15 embodied in a hand gun 20 with a trigger 19 enabling pulses of laser energy to be delivered along a flexible fibre optic probe 13 which has a bore in the end which can fit over a hair to be destroyed. At the end of the bore, the optic is formed as a convex lens so that the pulses of energy are focused into the hair so that the hair and follicle can be destroyed without destroying surrounding tissue.

Abstract: A detector for checking the symmetry of a helicopter rotor while it is rotating has a scanner (11) which scans vertically a field of view (15) and the view is interrupted by a vertical strip on the blade tip (16). A slot (18) in the strip gives a characteristic signal as at (L.sub.2). The position of the signal (L.sub.2) in a scanning cycle gives an indication of the height of the blade tip and also the circumferential spacing between blades.

Abstract: A building panel includes a main body having flanges extending from lateral edges and configured to have a portion in abutting, interconnected relation when two panels are in assembled relation and the remainder defining a slot for receipt of standard building studs. The panel is configured to fit between adjacent studs having standard sixteen-inch spacing so that a building structure can be formed using one type of panel and accompanying components which can be assembled without special tools.

Abstract: A merchandising and display device includes a portable cabinet that has an inner compartment open at one end for slideably receiving a plurality of trays that are retained therein by a removable cover and a conversion kit attached to the cabinet and having a display surface divided into a plurality of individual segments each having individual identifying indicia corresponding with indicia attached to the exposed ends of the trays. A transparent cover extends across the display surface and is releasably secured to connecting means forming part of the kit so that the displayed articles may be kept under lock and key while a supply of each article is maintained in the trays.

Abstract: A slitting and winding machine for tape includes a base (12) having a working surface (22) with a tape supply support (20) and a take-up mandrel assembly (80) at opposite ends of the working surface, along with a cutter mechanism (54) between the mandrel assembly and the working surface. A pair of spaced rolls (40) of leader material and a roll (42) of connecting material are supported on the base on one side of the working surface and have adjacent edges overlapping to be drawn over the tape and replace a segment that is previously removed. The mechanism cuts the wide tape into narrow strips and alternate strips are directed across specially designed guide rollers (100) toward respective mandrels of the mandrel assembly. The cutter mechanism includes a grooved roller (60) and a cutter blade support bar (68) that is designed for quick change of cutter blades.

Abstract: An automatic transmission system for a chain-driving vehicle includes a frame having a crank-driven sprocket and a drive axle with a drive wheel supported on the drive axle and a multi-speed sprocket assembly for driving the drive wheel. A continous chain drive engages the crank-driven sprocket and is engageable with each of the sprockets of the sprocket assembly. An actuating means is supported on the drive wheel spaced from the drive axle and is actuated by centrifugal force for shifting the chain to respective sprockets of the sprocket assembly in response to changes in speed of the vehicle.

Abstract: An air control device includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet with fixed and movable plates extending across the inlet that both have indentically configured and spaced openings. The movable plate is moved by a room temperature-sensing device to control the amount of air flow. The outlet has a flow-directing vane for controlling the direction of air flow into a room.

Abstract: An air-distributing system including a compressor for supplying compressed air to an outlet connected to a distributing conduit includes a condensing mechanism between the compressor and the distributing conduit for removing moisture from the compressed air. The condensing mechanism consists of an elongated chamber that has an inlet and an outlet adjacent the upper end with a tube extending from the inlet below the outlet and having a throttling valve at the lower end which produces expansion of the compressed air resulting in cooling within a condensing can where the cooling results in condensation on the surface of the condenser. The air flow is reversed by a funnel arrangement at the lower end of the condenser can and flows past the tube having the incoming, hotter compressed air to withdraw heat therefrom before entering into the distributing conduit.

Abstract: An improved diagnostic and operative arthroscope is described having an extended eye piece and optical channel, an instrument channel, light source and irrigation channel. The functional channels and light source are secured in parallel and covered by a sheath so as to form a generally oval shape in cross-section, presenting a low profile and enabling the use of the arthroscope with incisions of relatively smaller size.
