  • Patent number: 6772598
Abstract: A leak detection system for the detection and monitoring of pressurized refrigerant systems, primarily walk-in refrigeration units in stores or storage facilities, manages, monitors and controls the refrigeration system which store and preserve perishables. The system includes a gas refrigerant detector and a monitor and relay system to alert the store personnel and remote monitoring stations that a problem exists by detecting the presence of gas outside the system within the refrigeration units, assessing the magnitude of the problem, and providing an emergency shutoff means to close and contain the refrigeration system contents in the event a substantial refrigeration leak is detected, closing the system until system repairs are made and the system is reset.

  • Patent number: 6739796
Abstract: The security manhole insert cover relates to a locking manhole insert to prevent ingress or egress to a manhole from above or below the manhole to prevent access to underground utilities, tunnels and underneath buildings and metropolitan areas to eliminate security intrusions and terrorist attacks by underground access, which would otherwise go undetected if access to the underground utility passages were not secured. The manhole insert cover has a cylindrical locking insert barring access to the engaging and disengaging mechanism required to remove the manhole insert cover and an integrated lower cover to prevent access to the engaging and disengaging mechanism from below, the insert cover adapted to fit within a manhole without required modification of the manhole and without detection of the insert cover having been installed from above ground levels.

  • Patent number: 6725979
Abstract: The invention is a safety lock applied to a vehicle wheel during a road stop to prevent the vehicle from moving or being driven away during the stop. This safety lock would be applied to any tire on the vehicle by law enforcement or safety inspectors during the stop, the safety lock slid onto the tire from the outside of the tire, with friction enhanced chocks in front and in back of the tire, locking onto the tire to prevent the rotation of the tire, reducing the risk of injury or escape in the event an attempt is made to drive away during the road stop. It may also be used to secure a tire or wheel during maintenance or during an emergency roadside repair, the device compact enough to fit in the trunk of a car and light enough in weight to be carried by an average individual.

  • Patent number: 6658869
Abstract: The invention is an ice maker fitted within the freezer compartment of a refrigerator attached to an existing water and electrical source, the ice maker controlled by a microcontroller. A metal ice tray with partially deformed cups in line on a common base are filled with water and which freezes to form ice cubes, the cups having a rod with small fingers to elevate the frozen ice from the cups. When the ice is ready for ejection, the microcontroller senses by a thermal sensor the programmed temperature causing the ejection sequence to commence, rotating the ice tray as the ice tray is heated to release the ice cubes from the tray, at which time the rods forcibly eject the ice cubes into a storage bin. An upright bail is then lowered into the ice bin to detect the level of ice, signaling the microcontroller to continue or discontinue ice production.
