Abstract: The present invention provides a play toy system using a remote-controlled traveling toy, which enables the remote-controlled traveling toy to make a movement that is more unexpected than before, for play. The remote-controlled traveling toy 1 includes one front wheel 5 and two rear wheels 7 and 9. The traveling toy is remotely controlled by remote control signals and is so constructed as to travel on a traveling surface of a play board. The diameter sizes of the two rear wheels 7 and 9 are different. With one front wheel 5 and two rear wheels 7, 9 having a different diameter, the remote-controlled traveling toy 1 can move most unexpectedly that anyone has ever experienced, according to the state of the traveling surface of the play board.
Abstract: A surgical retractor includes a pair of small grips that are disposed at the ends of arms that can be moved toward or away from each other. The grips engage and separate the sides of an incision that has been made in a patient. A lifting mechanism that can be attached to one of the arms enables one side of the incision to be raised relative to the other side of the incision. The lifting mechanism includes a clamp that can be connected to the retractor and a foot that is connected to the clamp and which is movable relative thereto. The foot is engageable with the patient such that extension of the foot causes a selected grip to be raised. Retraction of the foot permits the selected grip to be lowered. In the preferred embodiment, the foot is disposed at one end of a notched rack; a rotatable pinion is in contact with the notches to extend and contract the rack; and a pivotally movable pawl permits movement of the rack in one direction and prevents movement of the rack in the other direction.

Abstract: A gear holding fixture is provided so that the appropriate position upon a gear tooth may be placed in line with an indenting device on testing equipment. The fixture includes a base that supports a movable rack, the rack including a plurality of teeth. The gear being tested is supported upon the movable rack in a way wherein the teeth on the gear intermesh with the teeth on the rack. The fixture also includes a gear axle restraint that is selectively movable depending on whether the gear is being tested or being replaced. The gear axle restraint in a gear testing position abuts an axle that supports the gear and extends along the gear's axis of rotation. This reduces the gear to only rotational movement. Thus, as the rack is moved incrementally along the base, the teeth on the rack drive the teeth of the gear, causing the gear to rotate.
Abstract: A fluid pressure sensor (1) for measuring the pressure of a fluid comprises a diaphragm portion (12) which is a strain generating body, a silicon oxide film (21) as an insulating film, and a strain gauge (20) made of crystalline silicon, and austenitic precipitation hardening type Fe—Ni heat-resisting steel excellent in mechanical strength and corrosion resistance is used for the diaphragm portion (12). The silicon oxide film (21) is formed with the internal stress thereof adjusted to the range from ?150 to 130 MPa. With this feature, the fluid pressure sensor (1) ensures high precision and reliability, and may be used even for measurement of a highly corrosive fluid.
Abstract: A speed controller includes a speed integration compensation low-pass filter, an integral control system, a proportional control system, and a multiplication device means. The speed integration compensation low-pass filter has a transfer function corresponding to a delay of a speed control system. The integral control system 136 is multiplied by an integral gain by a multiplier and integrated by a speed integrator before being supplied to an adder. The adder adds an output of the proportional control system and an output of the integral control system and outputs the result to the multiplier, which in turn multiplies the output of the adder by a proportional gain and outputs the result as a torque command. The multiplication means multiplies the output of the integral control system and the output of the proportion control system by a speed proportional gain and outputting the value of the torque command.
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-cyanide electroless gold plating solution free from a cyanide compound, comprising, as a completing agent of gold, a compound represented by the formula shown below or a salt thereof: X—(CH2)n—SH wherein n is 2 or 3 and X is SO3H or NH2, and having a pH value of 7 or less. The invention also provides a process for electroless gold plating using the non-cyanide electroless gold plating solution.
Abstract: A photoelectric encoder is provided, which emits light from a light source to a main scale and an index scale that can relatively move with respect to each other and obtains a light-receiving signal by interaction between the main scale and the index scale. The photoelectric encoder uses as the light source an incoherent semiconductor light source (white LED) in which a full width at half maximum of an emission spectrum is wider than that of a monochromatic semiconductor light source. Thus, it is possible to reduce an effect of a gap change on an output signal of the encoder and make positional adjustment easier, thereby improving misalignment characteristics.
Abstract: A front structure of a vehicle body having a pair of right and left front frames. Each front frame includes an axial load receiving member having first ridge lines extending substantially straight over the length thereof in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, and a moment receiving member welded to the axial load receiving member and having second ridge lines branched from substantially longitudinally central portions of the front ridge lines and curved inwardly of the vehicle body as extending rearwardly of the vehicle body.
Abstract: With an excessive impact load generated by a side impact or collision, even in the event that a falling deformation of a pillar connected to a side sill occurs at an initial stage of the side impact, triggering a twisting deformation of the side sill as the side sill is pulled along with the falling deformation of the pillar, the side sill is allowed to maintain a high rigidity against the impact load at a middle stage of the side impact due to a projecting surface of a secondary reinforcement panel being made to be oriented upwards by virtue of the twisting deformation of the side sill.
Abstract: A brake drum includes a ring-shaped drum body, and a friction member secured to the inner circumferential surface of the drum body. Because the drum body is formed of a lightweight Al alloy and the friction member is formed of an Al-base composite material, the brake drum can be reduced in weight as a whole. Further, because the friction member, having projection portions formed on its outer periphery, is cast enveloped by molten metal of the Al alloy, the friction member and the drum body can be firmly fastened together. Thus, even when a great braking force is applied to the drum brake, the friction member can be prevented from being undesirably detached from the drum body.

Abstract: A method of inspecting a workpiece during a production run in which workpieces are supplied to workstations by an autoloader. In accordance with the method, the supply of the workpieces by the autoloader is performed in accordance with a supply control routine. When it is desired to inspect a workpiece in a workstation, the supply control routine is interrupted after its then current cycle and the autoloader is used to move the workpiece to a quality control station. The supply of the workpieces in accordance with the supply control routine is then resumed. While the autoloader is operating in accordance with the supply control routine, the workpiece is inspected. If the workpiece is acceptable, the supply control routine is again interrupted after its then current cycle and the autoloader is used to move the workpiece to an output area. The supply of the workpieces in accordance with the supply control routine is then resumed again.
