  • Patent number: 5465664
Abstract: This invention relates to fuels used in explosive, pyrotechnic, gas generating, and propellant compositions. The fuel composition of the present invention comprises the reaction products formed as a result of reacting a transition metal or transition metal compound, preferably ferric nitrate or ferric hydroxide with a reducing sugar. The fuel composition of the present invention is suitable for use in explosive compositions by mixing with an oxidizing agent. The fuel composition of the present invention and explosive compounds derived therefrom exhibit nonfouling and noncorrosive properties when used in firearms, along with greatly reduced residue.

  • Patent number: 5426821
Abstract: A shower curtain rod has curved ends branching from the straight body. A curtain hung therefrom is caused to follow a curved contour of a bathtub below. Tracks are provided on the inner and outer sides of the curtain rod so that inner and outer curtains may be suspended therefrom. The inner curtain follows the bathtub contour, and the outer curtain extends to both of two parallel walls defining the shower stall. Curtain fasteners are slidably held within the tracks. The fasteners are insertable when turned ninety degrees from their normal, vertical orientation, then turned so that fastener hooks face downwardly. The fasteners are thus positively retained by the curtain rod, while allowing the curtains to be opened and closed independently from one another.

  • Patent number: 5414918
Abstract: A framing jig for building various configurations of wall sections, roof trusses and similar structural components in building construction. In one embodiment, two or more ganged cradle assemblies are provided with spaced cradles for supporting building studs in a spaced transverse configuration. Each set of ganged cradle assemblies may be set for a characteristic spacing distance. In an alternative embodiment, one set of ganged cradle assemblies is provided with means for extending alternate cradles so that staggered stud double walls may be constructed. By providing jig stops along transverse structural members, roof trusses may be constructed using the same framing jig on which building walls may be constructed. In a further embodiment, the framing jig may be deployed in a portable configuration combined with a sawing station and other supporting equipment for a fulling integrated on-sight fabrication facility.

  • Patent number: 5368520
Abstract: Apparatus and method for separating wings and attached breast from poultry carcasses comprising prescoring the flesh of the poultry carcass over the shoulder joint, separating the wing from the poultry carcass at the shoulder joint using a rotating cup knife having a broadly wedge shaped cutting edge, cutting along the scapula bone so as to separate tendons which tend to bind a portion of the breast meat to the poultry carcass and partially tearing the wing portion and attached breast portion including the "eye" and the flesh in the vicinity of the wishbone from the poultry carcass. The apparatus comprises separate processing stations for accomplishing each of the separation steps. The apparatus is designed to be used in conjunction with a moving conveyor belt having mandrels upon which the front half of a poultry carcass is mounted.

  • Patent number: 5358094
Abstract: A conveyor belt of the type used at checkout counters at retail establishments is adapted to the changeable display of advertising material on the visible surface of the conveyor belt. Static cling sheets bearing advertising indicia are adhered to the conveyor belt by electrostatic attraction. As an alternative embodiment, a low friction coating is applied to the visible surface of the static cling sheets. An additional alterative embodiment adds a strip of adhesive material between the conveyor belt and the leading edge of the static cling sheet for releasably securing the leading edge to the conveyor belt.
