  • Patent number: 4668158
Abstract: Disclosed is a rotary vacuum arm bag or sheet transferring and stacking device and a stack-handling system enabling an indexing of counted bag stacks. The transferring device grasps and retains the bags adjacent margins transverse to the direction of web advance while at least a portion of the opposed margins parallel to such direction are spaced inwardly from the arms to define a slot or gap thru which stack-retaining fingers project contributing to remove a bag from a pair of arms and retaining the bag in a stack wherein respective margins overlie each other. Also disclosed is a stack-handling system having the ability to remove a completed stack from the stacking station and yet allow, if desired, continuous bag machine operation and, as a result, uninterrupted transfer of sheets or bags to the stacking stations.

  • Patent number: 4244236
Abstract: A tilt steering column mechanism having two brackets, one of which is connected to a cab frame member and the other of which is connected to a steering column and is slideable within the first bracket upon tilting or pivoting of the steering column about a point remote from the second bracket. The first bracket carries a slideable lock bolt, which is spring-biased in one axial direction, and has a raised frusto-conical portion thereon which cooperates with any one of a number of uniformly spaced frusto-conical receptacles provided in the second bracket. A handle, pivotally mounted to the first bracket, causes the sliding of the lock bolt through the intermediary of a toggle link, which in the dead center position, together with the bias of the spring, holds the frusto-conical portion in the selected frusto-conical receptacle.

Abstract: A tilt steering column mechanism having two brackets, one of which is connected to a cab frame member and the other of which is connected to a steering column and is slideable within the first bracket upon tilting or pivoting of the steering column about a point remote from the second bracket. The first bracket carries a slideable lock bolt, which is spring-biased on opposite ends in opposite axial directions by a plurality of springs of differing magnitude, and has a raised frusto-conical portion thereon which cooperates with any one of a number of uniformly spaced frusto-conical receptacles provided in the second bracket. A handle, fixedly mounted to one end of the lock bolt causes the sliding of the lock bolt through the intermediary of a rotary cam and pin follower, which pin follower, in the raised cam land position, against the bias of the springs, holds the frusto-conical portion in the selected frusto-conical receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4240654
Abstract: A hose end coupling unit which has an expandable interlocking snap ring interconnecting a plug member inside a socket member. The interlocking snap ring has a countersunk or funnel-shaped mounting hole, which fits over a frusto-conical cam surface on the plug member and is expanded thereby, as the plug member is inserted into the socket member, into an internal groove within the socket, and is held in an expanded state confined in the groove, after passing over the cam surface, on a cylindrical shoulder portion on the plug member. A spacer snap ring nested in an external groove in the plug member, outside the socket member, prevents the plug member from being inserted deeper into the socket member once the interlocking snap ring is seated on the shoulder portion. An O-ring seal at the entrance of the socket member seals the interconnected plug and socket members.

  • Patent number: 4183485
Abstract: A mounting bracket for securing two parallel spaced-apart cylindrical members to a supporting structure. The bracket comprises an oval shaped clip, of flexible material, which has opposite terminal ends extending towards and overlapping one another along one lateral side of the clip. Each cylindrical member is passed between the overlapping ends and is nested within a respective semi-cylindrical loop that is formed at the opposite longitudinal sides of the clip. The overlapping ends of the clip are then fastened to one another and attached to the supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 4174615
Abstract: An auxiliary hydraulic fluid circuit for purging air from a hydraulic brake system in either an agricultural or industrial type of tractor vehicle by diverting hydraulic fluid through the auxiliary circuit from the hydraulic power system of the tractor into the hydraulic brake system. The fluid diverted into the brake system is observed flowing, through transparent means in conduits comprising the auxiliary circuit, until the fluid flow is clear, to the reservoir of the hydraulic power system. At which event, the brake system is now purged of air and the hydraulic circuit is disconnected between the tractor hydraulic power and brake systems.

  • Patent number: 4119016
Abstract: A hydraulic control device for use in a hydraulic system having a pump supplying fluid from a reservoir to a working circuit. The control device detects leaks in the working circuit by monitoring the level of hydraulic fluid in the reservoir. In the event of a drop in the level of hydraulic fluid beyond a predetermined low level, the control device automatically diverts the fluid output side of the pump to the fluid input side to prevent further loss of fluid in the working circuit and to safeguard against cavitation in the pump due to the low level of fluid in the reservoir. The control device also senses excessive pressure peaks in the working circuit and operates to relieve the excessive pressure peaks by automatically venting a portion of the fluid on the output side of the pump to the reservoir.
