  • Patent number: 6054641
Abstract: A keyboard musical instrument includes a keyboard, key action mechanisms and hammer assemblies as similar to an acoustic piano; however, strings are replaced with a beaten member so that a player practices a fingering on the keyboard without an acoustic sound; each of the hammer assemblies has a cylindrical hammer head formed of metal or synthetic rubber/synthetic resin, and no twisting moment is exerted on the hammer shank regardless of relative angular position between the hammer head and the hammer shank.

  • Patent number: 6052946
Abstract: A window regulator apparatus for moving a window glass in the vertical direction of a vehicle door incorporates a plurality of pulleys rotatably supported on the vehicle door, a drum rotatably supported to the vehicle door, and a cable jointed to the window glass, guided to the pulleys and looped around the drum. The drum includes a first spiral groove which supports one end of the cable and a second spiral groove which supports the other end of the cable. The second spiral groove is formed to spiral in a direction opposite the first spiral groove. The extending points of the cable relative to the first spiral groove and the second spiral groove are defined to gradually change where the cable releases from the drum in the radial direction of the drum by the rotation of the drum.

  • Patent number: 6051807
Abstract: A pulse arc welding apparatus feeds a consumable electrode with a constant rate, and arc-welds by applying a welding current constituted of a pulse current of a constant voltage characteristic and a base current of a constant current characteristic between the consumable electrode and a work piece. A pulse frequency correction circuit outputs a frequency correction value f.sub.e to a pulse frequency control circuit, such that when the pulse current upper limit value or lower limit value is selected continuously in a predetermined number of times at a pulse current comparison and adjustment circuit, pulse frequency is increased/decreased by a predetermined value .DELTA.-f by .DELTA.-f in accordance with the selected number of times.

  • Patent number: 6039016
Abstract: A valve timing control device incorporates a cam shaft rotatably assembled within a cylinder head of an engine, a rotational transmitting member mounted around the peripheral surface of the cam shaft so as to rotate relatively thereto within a predetermined range for transmitting rotational power from a crank pulley. A plurality of vanes are provided on the cam shaft or the rotational transmitting member. Fluid chambers are formed between the cam shaft and the rotational transmitting member and separated into advancing chambers and delaying chambers by the vanes. A fluid supplying device supplies fluid under pressure to at least a selected one of the advancing chambers and the delaying chambers. A coil-spring is disposed between the cam shaft and the rotational transmitting member so as to expand one of the advancing chambers and the delaying chambers. A restricting device is used to restrict the radial movement of the coil-spring.

  • Patent number: 6035819
Abstract: A variable valve timing controller according to the present invention comprises a locking mechanism for holding the vane in the middle of the pressure chamber until the internal combustion engine starts; and a damper for sealing up one of the advance chamber and the delay chamber and for slowing the relative rotation between the rotational shaft and the rotation-transmitting member. According to the present invention, the locking mechanism maintains the vane in the middle of the pressure chamber until the internal combustion engine starts. Therefore, the vane cannot vibrate even when unstable transitional pressure is supplied to the pressure chamber so that no undesirable noise shall be generated. Further, the valve timing may be further delayed after the internal combustion engine starts since the vane is maintained in the middle of the pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 6033149
Abstract: A material and method is provided for lining man-entry sized pipes and securing the lining to the pipe. A plurality of lining panels (10) are positioned along the interior surface of a pipe so as to form a plurality of adjacent wall portions extending through the pipe. The lining panels are each formed with a plurality of T-shaped flanges (20) extending perpendicular to and along said outer wall of the lining panel. A stiffening panel (200) is positioned between at least selected pairs of the T-shaped flanges. The hollow interiors of the stiffening panels are formed to receive and hold grout. The grout when cured provides strength and support for a second layer of grout injected into an annulus between the pipe's inner surface and an outer surface of the lining.

  • Patent number: 6019817
Abstract: A system for capturing HAPs/VOCs from an existing or planned air stream and destroying the contaminants in the air stream by microbial degradation is disclosed. In general, the system is composed of a reservoir with a filter structure positioned above it. The filter structure contains a capture or filtration media through which contaminated air or vapors must pass. HAPs/VOCs in the air or vapors are filtered out and absorbed by the capture media. The reservoir contains a tank water bath that is inoculated with microorganisms that are selected to degrade the hazardous materials or pollutants removed by the capture media. Sprinkler heads above the filter structure spray the filter structure with a sprayed water bath also inoculated with the microorganisms, whereby contaminants caught in the filter structure are leached out and bioremediated.
