Abstract: An air conveyor for a gas-sampling tube that is used for detecting foreign gases or suspended substances in air is described. The air conveyor comprises a body, serving as a handle, that has a control rod which is guided and lockable in a through-duct therein, and which is connected at one end to a bellows that serves as a suction element. The beginning and the end of the suction stroke is uniquely determined by a locking and releasing mechanism connected to the control rod thereby ensuring an exactly reproducible stroke volume. The locking and releasing mechanism utilizes two lever-like linkages, each provided with a hook, which are pivotally disposed in the body one under the other and parallel to the control rod.
Abstract: A device for fixing or transferring and fixing a powder containing thermoplastic resin on to a receiving material under the influence of pressure and heat, in which device the fixing member in pressure contact with the powder during the fixing of the powder image is provided with an outer covering consisting mainly of silicone rubber. The silicone rubber is the reaction product of polyorganosiloxane bearing Si--H groups and polyorganosiloxane which bears Si--(CH.dbd.CH.sub.2) groups and which on average contains between 40 and 1000 monomeric units per polymer chain, bears 1.5-4 terminal vinyl groups, bears at most one non-terminal vinyl group per 80 monomeric units and contains at most 2% Si atoms in the form of SiO3/2 or SiO4/2 units. The thickness of the silicone rubber covering is preferably less than 500 micrometers.
Abstract: A lithium halide battery appropriate for low-cost, mass production is disclosed in which the battery comprises an outer encasement member having top and bottom portions and an opening through one with at least one pelletized depolarizer positioned within the encasement member and in electrical contact therewith. The battery includes a lithium anode in contact with the depolarizer but electrically separated from the encasement member. At least one insulator means is positioned in contact with the anode and includes an opening therethrough located to align with the opening in the encasement. A terminal pin is positioned through the opening in the encasement member, but insulated from the periphery thereof, and in electrical contact with the anode through the opening in the insulator means.

Abstract: Specimen agitation apparatus comprises a horizontal turntable carrying, and its periphery, a plurality of substantially equally spaced vessels for receiving specimens to be agitated. The turntable is rotated stepwise about its central axis by a stepping motor which applies driving impulses to the turntable so as to cause it to rotate from a first rotational position to a second rotational position, but before coming to rest at the second position the turntable oscillates about the central axis to agitate the specimens.
