  • Patent number: 6191687
Abstract: A Wiegand sensor is provided as a power source for an external circuit, wherein an alternating magnetic field changes the magnetic state of a Wiegand wire within the Wiegand sensor which, in turn, produces a substantial output pulse that is provided as a power source for the external circuit. The external circuit may be a transmitter that is powered by the output of the Wiegand sensor and upon being powered transmits an information signal to an appropriate receiver. The number of occurrences that the magnetic field alternates corresponds to and is ascertained from the number of information signals that are transmitted. The alternating magnetic field may be generated by magnets coupled to a rotating valve of a gas or water meter such that the occurrence of each transmission of the information signal represents the flow of a predetermined amount of gas or water through the meter.

  • Patent number: 6181933
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile communication system and controlling method thereof for paging and establishing dynamically paging area, which is capable of making paging area dynamically according to position of a receiving mobile station. When a set-up signal is received, the NTP uses identifier of a BTS obtained from the location registration of the mobile station as a key for accessing paging database and accesses paging database by using the key. It makes near cell list using identifier of the BTS of the receiving MS, generates a paging list by extracting BTSs controlled by the same BSC from the near cell list and sends the paging list to each corresponding BTS. The percentage of paging success increases and the time of call connection reduce by establishing a paging area dynamically according to location of the receiving MS and paging in the dynamical paging area.

  • Patent number: 6175903
Abstract: A duplexing system and method for writing a back-up list in which a back-up process is substituted for a process having an error while performing plural processes. Memory space to store a back-up order list is allotted to two bytes per process. A number of the leading order process is stored in the first byte, whereas a number of following order process is stored in the second byte. Further, the top priority bit or the last bit of each byte of memory space in which the process to be backed-up is allotted is set, and thus the existence of a registration is displayed. Further, if error an occurs at plural processes, a non back-up process generates a back-up order list according to time sequence of error generation. If an error occurs at a process of another top priority order while operating a back-up of a back-up process, the process is registered at the leading order list.

  • Patent number: 6160285
Abstract: An electrode structure for use on an integrated circuit, and a method for forming the same. The electrode structure is formed by depositing a polysilicon layer on a dielectric layer. The polysilicon layer is then annealed until a plurality of non-contiguous polysilicon clusters are formed. Each of the non-contiguous polysilicon clusters has a base end and a top end. The base ends of the non-contiguous clusters are preferably separated by a spacing (S). Following the annealing step, the non-contiguous polysilicon clusters are connected electrically by depositing a conductive layer having a thickness (T) over the annealed polysilicon layer. • Patent number: 6158902
Abstract: A boundary layer microphone is disclosed. Boundary layer microphones have been known for some considerable time. One example is the MKE 212 P microphone type made by Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. The latter is a permanently polarized condenser microphone for concealed mounting in a wall, on the floor or on a table. Stereo recordings using such a boundary layer microphone are especially clear, creating a spatial impression of unusual breadth. The known boundary layer microphone MKE 212 P displays omnidirectional characteristics and a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz. The disclosed boundary layer microphone is designed to increase the directional characteristics compared to a boundary layer microphone of the aforementioned type, and to reduce or eliminate the problems associated with same. This is achieved by a boundary layer microphone having at least one sound tunnel running underneath the plate surface, the plate having at least one opening to the sound tunnel.

  • Patent number: 6157629
Abstract: In a method of automatically changing a frequency in a CDMA mobile communication system where multiple frequencies are assigned to a base transceiver station, states of an RFC, ACC, and SIC are periodically checked thus parts of them where errors are detected are cut off, a frequency processed by the part having the error is detected and excluded from overhead data, and, when the frequency which is processed by the part having the error is a fundamental frequency, other part is made to take charge of the fundamental frequency. Reversely, parts which are restored from an error state to a normal state are turned "ON", and the restored part is made to process the fundamental frequency as was before and a part which currently processes the fundamental frequency is made to process its original frequency when the restored part is one for the fundamental frequency.
