  • Patent number: 7467785
Abstract: A carburetor includes a fuel and air mixing passage with a throttle valve therein, and a bore with a valve therein defining in part a valve actuation chamber and a separate fuel and air mixing chamber in communication with the fuel and air mixing passage at a location downstream of the throttle valve. A fuel passage and an air passage are in communication with the fuel and air mixing chamber. A purge apparatus is in communication with the valve actuation chamber and is operable to move the valve to an open position to open the fuel and air passages to the fuel and air mixing chamber such that a fuel and air mixture may flow from the fuel and air mixing chamber to the fuel and air mixing passage downstream of the throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 7458156
Abstract: The effects of an air bearing may be augmented in various ways in order to assist in the automated assembly of valve spools into valve bores. Such augmentation may be achieved by agitating one end of the valve spool with sequentially applied pulses of pressurized air as the spool is being lowered into the valve body, increasing the effective length of the valve spool so that the agitation can be applied to the spool when the spool is partially inserted into the body, varying the position of the valve spool while the spool is being inserted into the valve body to expose a length of the spool to the pulses of pressurized air, and applying an oscillating vibration to the fixture that supports the valve body to dislodge a spool that has become jammed in the valve bore.

  • Patent number: 7455569
Abstract: A grinding and polishing machine, in particular for lenses, has at least one tool spindle and at least one workpiece. The tool spindle is constructed to hold a respective tool on the same axis at both ends and is mounted in a spindle housing which can be pivoted about a pivot axis arranged at right angles to the tool spindle in order to provide in each case one tool for machining engagement and also at various defined angle positions with respect to the workpiece spindle. A drive arranged on the pivot axis pivotably moves the tool spindle about the pivot axis for the desired machining engagement and rotates the tool about the pivot axis into the various angle positions with respect to the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 7455808
Abstract: A method of making a container preform includes providing a mold core having at least one surface recess in the form of negative-mold indicia, and molding a preform around the core such that the preform has internal raised indicia formed by the at least one recess in the core. The preform preferably subsequently is blow-molded to form a container having the raised indicia on an inside surface of the container. This raised indicia on the inside surface of the container may be viewed from outside of the container to confirm that the container is genuine. In accordance with various embodiments of the disclosure, the raised internal indicia may be on the bottom wall, sidewall, shoulder and/or neck of the container.

  • Patent number: 7448358
Abstract: A control system for a low cost, light duty combustion engine, where the control system generally utilizes an engine speed input signal and independent operating sequences to determine a desired ignition timing. There are several independent operating sequences, each one of which is designed to optimally control the engine under certain conditions. These operating sequences include a Cranking sequence, a Warm Up sequence, a Normal Mode sequence, an Acceleration sequence, a Come Down sequence, a Recovery Bump sequence, and a Part Throttle sequence. During idling conditions, the Normal Mode sequence uses rapid changes in the ignition timing to maintain the engine speed in a small, idle engine speed range. By utilizing these operational sequences, the control system improves the performance of a low cost, light duty engine across a wide array of conditions.

  • Patent number: 7441718
Abstract: A wood chipper or grinder includes counter rotating upper and lower feed drums driven by a hydraulic motor at variable fluid pressure to produce variable torque to the feed drums. Wood debris fed to a gap between the rollers is advanced toward a grinder or chipper to reduce the material. A hydraulic feed control system operates off the variable hydraulic pressure associated with the motor and, in an automatic mode, exerts more or less downward clamping pressure on the upper feed drum with changes in pressure to the motor. The system sets an upper limit on the clamping pressure in the automatic mode which can be overridden manually if necessary to apply greater downward force than that achievable in the automatic mode. The upper feed drum can also be manually raised if necessary.

  • Patent number: 7441950
Abstract: Providing a probe for an electronic clinical thermometer, which can measure a surface temperature and a deep body temperature of a human body securely in short time, the probe includes a cylindrical housing, a bottomed metal pipe fitted into a top end of the cylindrical housing, and a substrate having two thin-film heat-sensitive elements arranged perpendicularly on an inner wall of the bottomed metal pipe so as to fix one side edge of the substrate tightly on the inner wall. By measuring heat flux between the two thin-film heat-sensitive elements, the surface and the deep body temperatures of the human body can be predicted by applying the measured values into a heat conduction equation without waiting the sensor to reach in heat balance.
