  • Patent number: 5711629
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a rod connector assembly for removably securing a control rod to a spider structure. The rod connector assembly includes a tubular boss fixedly secured to the spider structure and a mounting assembly which includes a receiving structure and a biasing structure. The assembly also includes a cap having a cavity formed therein, the biasing structure including a driver and disposed in the cavity such that the driver extends outwardly from the cavity and into the boss, and wherein the cap is secured to the boss. When the control rod is in a prescribed position with respect to the boss, the mounting assembly is operative to resist rotation of the control rod upon application to the control rod of an amount of torque less than a predetermined amount of torque.

  • Patent number: 5711710
Abstract: A guard for shielding a rotating coupling interconnecting two rotating driveshafts. The coupling guard includes an arched cover sleeve formed from a flexible, planar sheet of material, preferably plastic, secured with a pair of brackets to a frame structure adjacent the rotating shaft coupling. The cover sleeve defines two opposed end openings, through which the rotating shafts extend, on opposite sides of the rotating shaft coupling. Preferably, the sheet of material forming the sleeve is scored with longitudinally running grooves, which enhance the flexibility of the sheet. Also, the coupling guard preferably includes a pair of arcuate end caps that cover the end openings and have central voids to permit the driveshafts to extend therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5710926
Abstract: A software developer's tool to help write application programs for an object-oriented operating system includes a storage device holding code. The code includes a clipboard copying utility and a first code section permitting the identification of dialog boxes and event tables associated with dialog boxes, the event tables signifying events capable of taking place during running of the application program to be written. A second code section permits the copying of dialog boxes and their associated event tables by actuation of the clipboard copying utility, and creates a new object identical to the parent object, providing a unique object name for the new object, and generating an event table name for the event table associated with the new object derived from the name of the parent object such that the event table includes controls having names derived from the name of the event table. A third code section permits editing of the child event table without altering the parent event table.

  • Patent number: 5708580
Abstract: An apparatus for stabilizing an unmodulated video signal that has a sync tip voltage includes an amplifier for amplifying the video signal according to a control voltage, a transistor receiving the amplified video signal from the amplifier on the base of the transistor and outputting the amplified video signal on the collector, a sync tip voltage detector connected to the emitter of the transistor for detecting the sync tip voltage in the video signal and outputting a voltage derived from the sync tip voltage, an integrator having three inputs, one of which is the voltage derived from the sync tip voltage and another of which is a reference voltage and an output to the amplifier as the control voltage, a stabilization loop including a low current detector that detects low current levels in the amplified video signal through an optical coupler to a resistive element and a pulse stretcher that outputs a signal to the third input of the integrator, whereby the sync tip voltage detector, integrator and amplifier

  • Patent number: 5707904
Abstract: An awning fabric for use with a backlit sign of the type having a light source disposed on one side of the awning fabric. The awning fabric includes a scrim and a translucent coating on at least one side of the scrim. The scrim is treated with an optical brightener. When the awning fabric is viewed by an observer from the side opposite the light source, the visibility of the scrim to the observer is minimized. The translucent coating may be plastisol. The optical brightener is preferably a fluorescent whitening agent comprising a stilbene derivative. Also disclosed is a method for producing an awning fabric. The method includes applying an optical brightener to a scrim and applying a translucent coating onto at least one side of the scrim. The method may further include applying an opaque coating onto the translucent coating. Thereafter, a solvent is selectively applied to the opaque coating thereby forming a selected pattern on the awning fabric.

  • Patent number: 5702181
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the flow of water to a pug mill. A water supply system is connected to the pug mill for providing a flow of water to the pug mill. The water supply system includes an inlet line connected to a supply of water; a pump connected to the inlet line; an outlet line connected between the pump and the pug mill; a return loop connected between the outlet line and the inlet line; and bypass means for selectively controlling the flow of water between the pug mill and the return loop. The invention also includes a control system having a moisture sensor for providing a signal representative of the moisture level of the clay feed material. A flow transmitter is located between the water supply and the pug mill for providing a signal representative of the water flow to the pug mill. A control valve is located between the water supply and the pug mill for controlling the flow of water to the pug mill.
