  • Patent number: 6346021
Abstract: A short tapered fin, that when worn on the forward portion of the foot, acts as a lever to the foot with the fulcrum of that lever being on the underside of the foot. The effect of this lever action stretches the arch of the foot on every downward kick. The rigidity of the fin is also adjustable to the particular swimmer by varying the taper of the fin. The short tapered swim fin functions as a stretching device to stretch and increase the arch of the foot, and as a training device to strengthen the leg muscles that are used with the motions of flutter kick. This invention is a training swim fin that when used over time will improve a swimmer's performance for competitive swimming without fins.

  • Patent number: 6302712
Abstract: An automotive spark plug ignition wire conduit having an insulating terminal cap of a flexible, compressible moisture proof insulating material of a generally annular cross-section, a first open end for receiving an insulated electrical ignited wire, a second open end adapted to be placed over a spark plug wire terminal and retained thereon, wherein the cap has an annular recess formed in the external surface of the cap, and a groove adapted to receive a fastening strap to be tightened about the cap and retained in the recess. In an alternate embodiment, a cap includes molded internal grooves having a spring wire molded therein gripping a spark plug. The device keeps ignition wires from becoming disconnected due to engine and road vibrations. It is especially useful in racing environments.

  • Patent number: 6302013
Abstract: A filling depositor for ravioli producing machines particularly with thick or chunky fillings comprises a rotary valve assembly connected to the filling tubes, which are fed by a positive displacement gear pump. The rotary valve assembly includes a rotary valve which is driven and synchronized with a gearing of the ravioli machine and includes machined openings in a shaft which match the shape of the ravioli forming die. The shaft is rotated into alignment with the ravioli die to provide the desired filling thorough slots in a housing and appropriate cut-off of the filling operating at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 6295885
Abstract: A manual automobile transmission includes a non-rotating reverse gear having an internal spline in the front portion of the reverse gear and a needle roller bearing mounted at the rear portion. The bearing supports the gear and allows the main shaft to rotate without the gear turning when the transmission is not in the reverse mode. A separate splined collar is mounted on the shaft. Internal splines on the collar readily engage the splines on the main shaft and extended splines match the reverse gear splines. A small spring ball is inserted in the gear just forward of the splines to facilitate alignment of the gear and splined collar.

  • Patent number: 6288701
Abstract: This invention comprises a user programmable scrolling display which includes a plastic case having a liquid crystal display on the exterior face thereof, control buttons by which one ray create, edit, store and display a multiplicity of messages and a rear face including a steel pin arrangement to affix the display unit to clothing. The rear face also includes serial interface holes for coupling an interior mounted printed circuit board to a computer to provide a second method for programming messages. Alternatively, the invention may include a plastic clip affixed to a vertical surface by means of double sided tape, such clip supporting the steel pin. In another embodiment, the display unit comprises an elongated base and a display portion extending outwardly therefrom for insertion to an aperture in a foam board or cardboard unit. The display and control buttons are on the forward face or alternatively may be mounted on the elongated rear portion.

  • Patent number: 6280272
Abstract: A short motion swim fin used as training device for the improvement of the fast flutter kick motions of speed swimming and as such uses a flat flexible plate which is rigid across its base, and inner rubber sheath surrounding the plate and an outer sheath which varies in length depending upon the rigidity desired by thereby varying a projecting portion of the plate which contact the water. The plate functions as a lever on the underside of the foot to stretch the arch of the foot on every downward kick, as well as to strengthen the fast twitch leg muscles associated with a strong flutter kick.

  • Patent number: 6247608
Abstract: A beverage can lid comprises an outer peripheral groove adjacent the outer rim and an inner concentric groove separated therefrom by a dividing rim which is at a predetermined height relative to the outer rim. A center platform is connected to the dividing rim by walls which slope downwardly from said rim. The central pull tab area is approximately the same height as the height of the inner groove and is connected to the inner dividing rim at one end with an upwardly curving surface. The outer groove which may be shallow and permits entry of a crimping tool to mount the lid on a can is also easily cleaned to provide a sanitary can lid. The inner groove may be blocked in the pouring spout area to facilitate cleaning.

  • Patent number: 6244572
Abstract: A carburetor float bowl drain screw and recovery system includes a retaining screw having a threaded forward end, an intermediate portion having a plurality of transverse holes leading to an axial channel and an internally threaded end portion terminating in a hex head. An externally threaded insert engages the end portion and includes a tapered forward portion which engages tapered internal walls on the retaining screw to effect a seal, an internal channel and a hexagonal rear portion terminating in a cylindrical end for coupling a fuel line thereto. When the insert is loosened fuel flows through the holes in the screw into the screw channel and then outwardly through the insert channel to a fuel line. The fuel bowl may thus be safely drained.
