  • Patent number: 6105437
Abstract: The pressure transducer comprises a pressure connection (2) and a tube-shaped housing (22) that is securely attached at its lower end section (24) to the pressure connection. Arranged in the interior of the housing (22) are a pressure sensor (6) carried by the pressure connection (2) and a circuit arrangement (8). An interface module (18) is attached at the upper end section (26) of the housing (22), the connection between the interface module (18) and the upper end section (26) being effected by means of a locking ring (32) that is locked to the housing (22) and that is either integral with the interface module (18) or that carries a union nut (46) that secures the interface module (18) to the locking ring (32). During manufacture of the pressure transformer, the housing (22) is attached to the pressure connection (2) before the interface module (18) is brought into electrical contact with the circuit arrangement (8) and before it is connected mechanically to the housing (22).

  • Patent number: 6055864
Abstract: In the case of a pressure sensor (1) a measuring cell (4) is fixed together with a retaining body (9) in a housing (2) of the pressure sensor. For this purpose, the housing (2) has a constriction (15) encircling it on the outside. A contact base (11), which is placed at the top onto the retaining body (9), is fixed by means of an inwardly bent section (18) of the housing (2), with the result that the pressure sensor (1) is closed in a sealed manner. The fixing of the retaining body (9) by means of the constriction (15) means that the pressure sensor (1) is also suitable for particularly high pressures with the risk that the retaining body (9) could slip in the housing (2) due to the pressure acting on the measuring cell (4) being excluded.

  • Patent number: 5874888
Abstract: A car radio with an electronic anti-theft device, which device includes circuitry for electrically detecting the removal of the car radio from its build-in recess, and by which the function of the car radio is blocked as long as the anti-theft device is not deactivated after the removal. A simple arrangement with a highly reliable mode of operation is obtained in that the circuitry for electrically detecting the removal of the car radio includes a monitoring circuit, by which the presence of a connection from the car radio to at least one loudspeaker is monitored continuously, and by which the anti-theft device is activated immediately after the interruption of this connection.

  • Patent number: 5848571
Abstract: A seed metering mechanism including a seed singulator assembly for reducing the likelihood of or eliminating double or excess seeds being carried by a seed disc of the seed metering mechanism to a discharge area of the seed metering mechanism for deposit to the ground. The singulator assembly is disposed downstream of a seed chamber and upstream of the seed discharge area of a seed metering mechanism. The seed singulator of the present invention includes a seed engaging member arranged on opposite sides of the path of travel of a circular array of openings on a seed disc of the seed metering mechanism. The spacings between the seed engaging members being such that only a single seed carried in each opening is permitted to pass therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5842428
Abstract: Vacuum seed metering apparatus is operably arranged in combination with a seed storage hopper. The seed metering apparatus includes a rotatable disc having a circular row of apertures for movement along a predetermined path during rotation of the disc. A housing is arranged in seed receiving relation relative to the seed hopper, and includes an interior divided by the disc into a seed chamber to hold seeds and a vacuum chamber extending at least partially around the path of movement of the apertures. The vacuum chamber has a leading end, a trailing end, and a vacuum exhaust port in communication with a vacuum source therebetween. The trailing end of said chamber is arranged adjacent to a seed discharge area where seeds are released from the disc, and an opening is provided proximate to the seed discharge area to enhance the release of seeds from the disc.

  • Patent number: 5839378
Abstract: A seed agitating assembly for a seed metering mechanism including a housing with a seed reservoir area wherein a mass of seeds are held and a rotatable seed disc internally carried by the housing. The seed disc is provide with a circular array of holes or throughopenings for captively transferring seeds from the seed reservoir to a seed discharge area on the seed metering mechanism. The seed discharge area is typically arranged in spaced relation from the seed reservoir. A rotary drive shaft extends endwise through the housing for imparting rotational movements to the seed disc. According to the present invention, a seed agitator assembly is provided for stirring or agitating the seeds in the seed reservoir. The seed agitating assembly includes a generally circular or plate-like member that is operably coupled to the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 5799598
Abstract: Sealing arrangement for a vacuum seed metering mechanism includes a housing assembly divided into a seed receiving chamber and a vacuum chamber by a circular seed disc having parallel and flat sides. The seed disc is provided with a circular row of openings proximate a periphery of the seed disc. Due to a pressure differential across the openings, seeds supplied to the seed receiving chamber of the seed metering mechanism are carried by the openings of the seed disc to a seed discharge area of the seed metering mechanism. The housing assembly of the seed metering mechanism includes a cover portion having an integrally formed sealing face; preferably formed of a pair of radially spaced annular flat sealing faces and a transverse ramp portion. The annular faces are joined to each other in a common plane to define the boundary of the vacuum chamber.

  • Patent number: 5733022
Abstract: A backsplash is configured for a stable and permanent attachment to a countertop surface. The backsplash has a substantially elongated flat member which has a front face and a back face. The elongated member has extending from it near its bottom a first thin base ledge, a second thin base ledge, and a gripper flange. The first base ledge extends at a substantially right angle from the front face of the elongated member. The second base ledge extends at a substantially right angle from the back face of the elongated member, opposite the first base ledge. The gripper flange extends vertically from the flat member. A recess in the countertop surface is configured to frictionally receive the gripper flange and to also receive the first and second base ledges. An adhesive is used with the base ledges to augment the holding force of the gripper flange. A scribe ledge optionally extends from a top edge of the elongated flat member as an aid in installation to get a flush fit against a room wall surface.
