Abstract: Continuously produced plastic bags are made with cutouts in the bags to serve as handles for the bags. A rotary wheel set is used to interface with a circumferential knife blade to cut the holes in the bags. An improved bag tensioning platen and holding apparatus is provided to improve the uniformity of holes being cut in the bags.
Abstract: Interface control for controlling the altitude of two roll planes of a deck surface relative to each other and providing cooperation with a stop that precludes the lowering of one of the roll planes when a load is in position on the deck surface.
Abstract: An article stack unifying device having article stacking elements is provided to stack a plurality of articles on a surface on or of a rotatable surface. While the articles are being stacked on the selected surface a quantity of wrapping film is wrapped around the stack of articles at intervals during the stacking process and at the completion of the stack.

Abstract: A machine for the continuous production of plastic bags utilizes a servo drive motor to drive the machines film web draw roll assembly and through a seal roll index gear also to drive a seal roll of the machine in coordination with the servo driven draw roll. Control of the servo motor is through a motion controller receiving inputs form the servo motor.

Abstract: A bag machine fabricates plastic bags by transversely cutting and sealing, at regularly spaced preselected locations, an elongate plastic web having graphic material repetitively printed thereon. In operation, the bag machine advances the web by a calculated draw length, and an optical sensor, sensitive to the passage of eyemarks printed in regularly spaced locations on the web, functions to ensure that the web is cut and sealed only at the desired locations. To avoid inaccuracies resulting from a gradual variance between the nominal draw length and the actual distance between eyemarks, a control system monitors the actual distance between eyemarks and sets the nominal draw length to the average actual spacing between eyemarks as measured over a preselectd number of successive eyemarks.
Abstract: A fluid loading arm emergency disconnection system comprising two pipe elements each including a normally closed valve that can be opened when said pipe elements are connected, means for sensing a connection between the arm and a receptacle, means for sensing a predetermined angular arm configuration, and means for disconnecting the arm when the connection and predetermined arm configuration are sensed simultaneously.
Abstract: A juice processing module is provided in a raw juice stream to aid in the separation of the juice stream into clarified juice and pulpy juice. Raw juice is forced through directed orifices at a separating screen carried in a containment housing. Juice outlet ports are provided for the clarified juice and the pulpy juice.

Abstract: The present invention has to do with aircraft cargo handling and loading equipment and specifically with a type of roller deck surface employed thereon.
Abstract: A product support table, having an elongated longitudinal opening is positioned over a pair of fin seal wheels which provide a seal between two edges of a sheet of film that has been wrapped around an article. The product support table supports a pair of product transport belts that are located between the product being wrapped and the product support table. The belts run the length of the product support table generally in contact with the top side of the table and then, on the return run, are directed upwardly to the bottom of the product support table for most of its travel back to a drive roll and a belt take-up roll.
Abstract: A well casing hanger/packoff apparatus with ports through which fluids can be circulated during installation and cementing operations, and a sleeve-type valve that can be moved axially to open or close the ports as desired.
Abstract: A double telescoping horizontal arm, adapted for use in a robotic palletizer, including an outer member, an intermediate member and an inner member in telescoping relationship to one another. An idler wheel, mounted to the intermediate member, simultaneously engages both the outer member and the inner member so as to rotate in response to movement of the inner member relative to the intermediate member. Rotation of the idler wheel, in turn, drives the intermediate member in the same direction as the inner member thereby resulting in a double telescoping action.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for connecting the opposite ends of a belt conveyor stringer to longitudinally spaced ground engaging support stands without the use of tools. The stringer is made from a length of round pipe, the ends of which have diametrically outwardly projecting locking lugs for locking the stringer ends in slotted brackets fixed to the top of the support stands. The outer wall of the bracket has a gravity actuated lug keeper plate, or a spring loaded lug keeper plate, which locks the lug in the bottom of the slots in the bracket when the stringer is rotated in one direction.
Abstract: A plastic bore seal assembly, for use in a static or dynamic mode, comprising a sleeve-type seal element with an annular sealing lip at each end thereof, an anti-extrusion ring surrounding the seal element intermediate the sealing lips, one or more sleeve-like finger springs within the seal element, and optionally a wear sleeve within the seal element bore.
Abstract: A drive and drive controller for a vibratory conveyor, wherein the drive comprises a pair of pole pieces offset along a direction of action of the drive, and moveable in the direction of action of the drive when energized by a power signal. Preferably, one of the pole pieces is mounted to a tray portion, and the other to a kinetic balancer portion, of the conveyor. The power signal comprises a series of pulse trains of controllable frequency and duration, whereby the drive unit may be vibrated at a controllable frequency and amplitude so that the vibratory conveyor may be readily tuned to optimal performance. Optionally, the voltage level of the power signal may be reduced by an autotransformer in series with the power signal to independently control the power level.
Abstract: A rotary film sealing and severing device for use with thermoplastic film for forming packages. The device includes a rotating anvil assembly and a counter-rotating film cutting assembly having a heated sealing and cutting knife. First and second liquid cooled clamping bars on either side of the knife hold the layers of film together while the film is being sealed and cut. Cooling the clamping bars prevents the film from adhering to the clamps and causes the layers of film to quickly fuse together and allows high speed operation by preventing separation of layers of film due to slow cooling.
Abstract: Vehicles supporting a load are propelled between a load receiving station and a pallet unloading station. When the loaded vehicle is in a predetermined location, the pallet unloader is actuated causing the unloader ram element of the pallet unloader to contact the load and urge the load off the support vehicle and onto the load receiving station. This unloading is accomplished while the vehicle continues to move through the unloading station. The rate of unloading is coordinated with the speed of the vehicle through the unloading station.
