Abstract: The frame for prone surgical positioning is a frame placed on a conventional operating table and used to position a patient in a prone position for surgery on the spine. The frame has an open, rectangular base defined by two longitudinal beams and two lateral beams, the size of the base being adjustable by sliding the beams though metal sleeves and clamping the beams in the desired relation by thumbscrews. The base supports six vertical posts, two of the posts being mounted on sleeves at one end of the longitudinal beams and between the longitudinal beams, the remaining four posts being mounted on the longitudinal beams. Resilient patient positioning pads are mounted on top of the vertical posts. The position of the vertical posts on the base may be adjusted, the vertical posts being mounted to the beams by metal sleeves clamped to the beams by thumbscrews.
