    Abstract: A pistol-shaped powder delivery device consolidates propellant pulse creation, powder storage, powder aerosolization and aerolsolized powdered delivery in a single device while providing dose, pattern and coverage control of the output spray. The single-hand-held, single-hand-operated device includes a housing having a handle portion that is selectively collapsed to generate a propellant pulse that is conveyed into and through powder stored in a reservoir mounted at an upward angle to the horizontal in a receptacle provided in the housing. Powder in the reservoir is caused to be aerosolized by the propellant pulse whereupon aerosolized powder exits the reservoir through an open end of, and elongate slots provided in the sidewall of, an elongate hollow member extending from an outlet in the receptacle through the stored powdered material into a head space in the reservoir. The outlet is connected a barrel portion for output of the aerosolized powder spray.

A regulation system controls flow of medical gas at a variety of pressures, and flow of biocompatible agent or agents, allowing agents to be sprayed or otherwise deployed onto a tissue surface. Switching apparatus operably connected to the regulation system directs a set of preset treatment positions allowing sequential application of biocompatible materials under various conditions in conjunction with an overall treatment protocol. The device can be used to apply a photoinitiating primer and polymeric sealant to a tissue surface, followed by light activation to form a polymer coating on the surface.

    Abstract: An anastomosis device is provided for making connections between various conduits in the body of a patient. The device includes a first assembly that is threaded through the target conduit of the patient to a desired location. The device then pierces the wall of the target conduit and is then attached to an external assembly that is withdrawn through the wall of the target conduit to draw the desired connector and a graft conduit into the desired position along the wall of the target conduit. Thereafter, the first assembly is separated from the connector and graft conduit. In this invention, the connector may be a stent like device, staples or similar components to secure the graft conduit to the desired location along the wall of the target conduit.
