  • Patent number: 3986644
Abstract: A resiliently deformable diaphragm having a central domed portion surrounded by a marginal flange, has its flange clamped between opposing members of the pump housing whereby the central domed portion of the housing co-operates with one of the members to define a variable volume pump chamber. The convex side of the dome is received within a central opening in the other member and normally seats over and closes a vent port within said opening. An actuating lever fulcrumed on the housing has an arm movable upwardly through the said opening to deforming engagement with the diaphragm dome to alternately compress and to permit expansion of the dome.

  • Patent number: 3976070
Abstract: A support device for a hypodermic needle particularly useful in dental surgery. One part of the support device is a funnel-like structure adapted to fit over the base of the hypodermic needle, and the other part consists of a siding tip guard adapted to slide coaxially inside the funnel-like structure in the manner of an expansible telescope. Both the funnel-like structure and the tip guard have longitudinal openings therethrough, inside which the hypodermic needle is placed. At the end of the tip guard, away from the funnel-like structure, there is an enlarged hub adapted to press against the gum in the mouth of the patient and through which the hypodermic needle is inserted, through the gum and into the bony structure below.

  • Patent number: 3965497
Abstract: The discharge spout of an inverted container of liquid product to be dispensed is received in a sleeve, the upper end of which is threaded onto the container in outwardly spaced relation from the spout. A metering and sealing cup supported within the sleeve receives the spout, the arrangement being such that the sleeve may be rotated about its threaded connection to the container, either to bring the cup into sealing relation with the container spout or into dispensing relation with respect thereto. The cup normally maintains a supply of liquid above the level of the discharge opening of the spout lower end and, under proper pressure conditions, permits overflow of product through a discharge passage which establishes communication between the cup and the open lower end of the sleeve. The discharge is automatically controlled by alternate compression and decompression of air within the sleeve arising from rising and falling of the column of tank water therein, as the flush tank is flushed and refilled.

  • Patent number: 3945062
Abstract: A container of the chemical to be dispensed is supported in inverted position in the toilet flush tank with the mouth of the container opening downwardly. The dispensing closure is sealingly associated with and axially adjustable on the container around its mouth. The closure has an open lower end normally immersed in the water within the tank and separated by a partition from the metering chamber within the upper end of the closure communicating with the container mouth. The liquid is delivered by gravity into the metering chamber, to a depth to cover said mouth. Pressurized air delivered from the pump chamber into the upper portion of the metering chamber above the mouth exerts a pressure on the liquid within the metering chamber to force the same out through a discharge port and tube leading to the tank overflow pipe.
