Abstract: A holder for attaching a remote control to a piece of furniture. A bracket attaches to the piece of furniture and a platform is pivotally attached to the bracket and holds the remote control. The bracket includes a mounting plate, a stationary arm, and a movable arm. The platform has a lowermost surface which is concave allowing the platform to be used with remote controls having either flat or convex lower surfaces by merely inverting the platform accordingly, and a first portion of hook and loop fasteners screwed to the platform. A second portion of hook and loop fasteners is attached to the remote control and releasably engages with the first portion of hook and loop fasteners so as to releasably engage the remote control with the platform. A joint pivotally attaches the platform to the bracket and includes a pair of plates and a post with a second ball bearing and a screw boss.
Abstract: A kitchen device for resting on a counter top and pitching a drain board supported thereon into a sink in the counter top that includes a bottom wall, a pair of side walls, and, a rear wall. The bottom wall includes a plurality of slats for supporting the drain board on a depending incline towards the sink, and which are spaced-apart from each other for providing drainage for leaks from the drain board. Each terminal end of each slot is formed into a tenon. Each side wall is generally right-triangular-shaped, and as a result thereof, has a leg for resting horizontally on the counter top, a base that extends vertically upwardly from the leg, a hypothenuse that depends inclined from the base forwardly to thevertex, an interior surface that faces the other side wall, and an exterior surface for facing the ambient. The interior surface of each side wall has a plurality of blind mortises that are disposed in line with each other, below, and parallel to, the hypotenuse.
Abstract: A ruler that guides a blade and provides shielding protection from the blade for the hand of a user not holding the blade, not only when the blade is drawn along the ruler and cuts a sheet of material, but also if the blade should be lifted and accidentally dropped during use. The ruler includes a base a shield, and successive numerical indicia. The base has an uppermost surface with a first recess therein that extends a substantial amount thereof and which is completely filled with a first pad of anti-skip material that provides cushioned comfort for, and prevents the hand of the user not holding the blade from skipping along the base when stabilizing and holding the ruler down.
Abstract: A multi-part and multi-function cover for selective portions of a vehicle. The cover includes a cover member that covers the selective portions of the vehicle, fastening apparatus that is associated with the cover member and fastens the cover member on the selective portions of the vehicle, and a bag that stores the cover member when not in use. The cover member includes a lower portion that covers the pair of front fenders of the vehicle, the hood of the vehicle, the at least one door of a the vehicle, the pair of rear quarter panels of the vehicle, and the trunk lid of the vehicle. The cover member further includes an upper portion that is independent from the lower portion of the cover member and covers the roof of the vehicle, the front windshield of the vehicle, the rear windshield of the vehicle and the at least one side window of the vehicle.
Abstract: An improved bicycle transmission of a type having a housing, a pair of walls, a primary axis, primary gears, a splined shaft, a meshing gear, a primary group, an independent gear, an intermediate axis, intermediate gears, a final axis, shifting apparatus, a gear cover, a shifting arm, a locking apparatus, and a spring. The improvement includes the locking apparatus having a plate that is vertically pivotally attached above, and selectively engages and locks, the shifting arm, and a jaw that is substantially U-shaped, depends concentrically from the plate, and terminates in a plurality of alternating flutes and bumps, with the shifting arm being maintained against unwanted movement by engaging in a respective flute of the plurality of flutes of the jaw and being selectively maintained therein by the biasing of the spring.
Abstract: A portable device for wearing by a user and removing deposits from a surface. The device includes a first portion for delivering a fluid that is a cryogen and a second portion for overlying and dispensing the fluid onto and removing the deposits from the surface. The first portion includes a pole for hand-holding, a fitting that fluidly engages in the pole, a first valve that fluidly engages the fitting, a hose that fluidly engages the first valve, a second valve that fluidly engages the hose, a portable tank that fluidly engages the second valve and which contains the fluid which flows through the second valve when opened, through the hose, to the first valve, which when opened, allows the fluid to flow into the fitting and into the pole, and a harness that is operatively connected to the portable tank for attaching the portable tank to the back of the user or to the pole during use.
Abstract: A device for alerting a dentist when the angular position of the drill and the angular position of the tooth being drilled do not correspond so that during drilling the angular position of the hole being drilled does not change. The device includes a drill transducer, a tooth transducer, a central control unit, and an alarm. The drill transducer is attachable to a dental drill and generates a drill angular position signal representing an angular position of the dental drill. The tooth transducer is removably attachable to a tooth and generates a tooth angular position signal representing an angular position of the tooth. The central control unit compares the drill angular position signal and the tooth angular position signal to each other to determine if the difference is within the value of a predetermined difference angular position.
Abstract: An ergonomic writing instrument comprising a writing instrument and a shell. The shell has a longitudinal axis and opposite ends and a hollow interior. The writing instrument is positioned within the shell with its operational end extending from one end of the shell. The portion of the shell furthest from the operational end is heel or "D" shaped, thus providing an ergonomically superior shape for a writing instrument. One can pick up this writing instrument and very easily grip the writing instrument correctly. Due to the comfortable conformity of the writing instrument to the natural arch between the thumb and the index finger, one can write for long periods without the fatigue or writing cramps which ordinarily accompany prolonged handwriting with conventionally shaped writing instruments.
