  • Patent number: 8188327
Abstract: This invention covers a process for dimerizing of isobutylene to Iso-octene and unique configuration is being disclosed, where the Feed is diluted to low level with recycle which has essentially no Iso-octene, dual catalyst system, new selectivator (IPA) and successive catalyst stages if needed to enhance the conversion. The process is very selective and provides higher isobutylene conversion. Additionally the invention also covers the hydrogenation of olefins to Paraffin, Iso-octene to Iso-octane product under moderate conditions and with dual or single catalyst system.

Tools are provided to manage the patients, the patient's relative contact, mail and photo collection. Relatives can be designated to suggest changes to the contacts and edit the contents of the patient's contacts files. The messages may be audio, video or text and the user friendly system helps the patients navigate through the process. Notification is provided so that the relatives and patients know when a message had been received. • Patent number: 7476215
Abstract: A syringe includes a retractable needle assembly comprising a needle seat, a hypodermic needle, and a barrel. A hollow plunger is slidably mounted within the barrel. A seal is provided between the plunger and barrel to prevent air from passing into or out of the barrel. A piston is slidably mounted within the plunger such that movement of the plunger into the fill position locks the piston in place. A seal between the piston and the interior of the plunger prevents air or fluid from passing into the plunger. As the plunger is depressed the plunger moves in the barrel while in the piston is stationary. The relative axial movement of the plunger in relation to the piston causes a vacuum to be created within the plunger. The plunger in the fully depressed position releases the needle carrier and the vacuum pulls the needle carrier and needle into the hollow plunger.

  • Patent number: 7291134
Abstract: A needleless connector for adding medication to a parenteral fluid is provided. The needleless connector comprises a connector adapted to receive a syringe and having a check valve to seal the port in place of a puncture pad. The check valve comprises a resilient disc held in place and biased closed by the tensile stress of the check valve material. When a syringe or other apparatus having a male luer connector is engaged with the connector and fluid pressure is applied to the check valve the resilient disc is deformed which allows the medication to flow through the connector into the tubing and thus to the patient.

  • Patent number: 7128812
Abstract: A foam level in a delayed coking drum is detected by utilizing the varying density of the boiling mass in the coke drum which has larger bubbles and is less dense at the top and smaller bubbles and a higher density at the bottom. A plurality of radiation detectors are disposed on the drum and calibrated such that zero radiation is equivalent to 100 percent level. The percentage reading for each detector is multiplied by the fraction of height each detector is in relation to the total height of all the detectors to give a product and the products summed to give a level.

  • Patent number: 6261267
Abstract: An IV container spike and drip chamber assembly is provided that includes an automatic shut off mechanism which allows nurses to change the fluid container without removing the catheter from the patient. The automatic shut off mechanism comprises a floating ball capable of being supported by or floating in the fluid due to the buoyancy of the fluid. The IV container spike also includes an air vent which allows the air in the drip chamber to vent out directly when the nurses want to change the container of medicinal fluid. The air vent is closed for the initial use and during the infusion process. As the medicinal fluid is gradually reduced in level in the drip chamber, the floating ball is lowered thereby and when the floating ball reaches the bottom of the drip chamber, the floating ball blocks the outlet so as to stop the injection.

  • Patent number: 5937799
Abstract: An environmentally accommodating, reduced NOx, spark or plasma ignited, reciprocating, multi-fuel engine utilizing direct, in-cylinder water injection and an optional oxygen enriched air supply is able to operate as an ultra-lean burn, high compression ratio engine for notable power output and increased efficiency. The in-cylinder low-temperature water injection promotes numerous desirable effects. One, the in-cylinder water injection during compression stroke significantly lowers compression temperatures through the latent heat of vaporization of the liquid water to the gaseous form. The lower temperature of compression permits increased compression ratios while avoiding pre-ignition. As well, the low-temperature water injected air/fuel or enriched O.sub.2 /air/fuel mass demands less work in the compression stroke thereby increasing overall engine efficiency. The low-temperature water injection promotes increased mass flow through the engine for increased power output and efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5885257
Abstract: A spring loaded automatic retractable needle syringe is disclosed wherein a compressed spring is placed between a needle carrier and the distal end of the barrel and a cap placed over the distal end of the barrel. A releasable retaining means is provided to hold the needle carrier at the distal end. The needle extends through an opening in the end of the cap which is covered by a puncture pad. When the releasable retaining means is released the compressed spring pushes the needle carrier back up completely into the barrel. The puncture pad seals the opening in the cap.
