  • Patent number: 5254843
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of securing magnetically encoded data from altering, forging, or counterfeiting. The invention pertains to magnetic storage media such as magnetic tape, magnetic striped cards, and other documents or objects which contain magnetic media. This invention utilized the inherent variations in the timing of magnetically encoded data in combination with the random effect of the magnetic media. Data is protected by reading the original encoded data just after encoding and storing this initial timing data stream. It is authenticated by a comparison of the timing data stream of any subsequent reading of this encoded data to the original timing data stream. Acceptance criterion depends on the magnetic media and applications chosen.

  • Patent number: 4531745
Abstract: This invention relates to a new article of manufacture. The invention consists of an improved ring toss game with a new rope ring having three or more separate but interconnected circular rope coils and a fixed peg target mounted on a wall or vertical support or floating on water. This fixed peg target may also be mounted on the ground or floor base. The game has many possible variations such as changing the angle or position of peg, the number of points required to win, the maximum number of tosses in a game, or the circular size of the rope ring.

  • Patent number: 4387809
Abstract: This invention relates to an integral multi-compartment combination package and stirrer device. A hollow tubular body is bonded together with end caps and one or more compartment separators are bonded inside the hollow tubular body. A die cut slot in the tubular body forms an opening to each compartment and the contents are contained in the compartments with a tear-away or perforated sealable tab affixed atop of each compartment emptying slot. The user can remove the tab to empty the contents of one or more of the additives into a beverage and then utilize this package itself to stir the additives into a hot or cold beverage. Other conventional opening methods may be used as alternatives to the tear-away tab method.

  • Patent number: 4355471
Abstract: This invention relates generally to mobile carpentry and drafting devices and, more particularly, to an integral combination type device which is capable of performing multiple geometry measuring functions within a single instrument. The invention relates specifically to a unique combination of independent carpentry functions into a single device to replace separate tools heretofore required to perform individual functions. The Squareangle may be used to check surfaces for plumb and levelness; check inside and outside squareness; find the center of a circle, square, or octagon; mark 45.degree. and right angles; scribe lines; measure distance; and perform other geometry and drafting functions without the aid of additional devices.

  • Patent number: 4176684
Abstract: This invention relates generally to fluid discharge devices and, more particularly, to a discharge device for use with a combined filling and draining faucet attachment commonly used with portable washing machines and portable dishwashers. The invention relates specifically to a fluid discharge device having a round hollow truncated cover shaped body with a tubular structure at the top, an adjustment tube inserted into the tubular structure of the body and extending upward allowing for height adjustment of the device. The vertical discharge outlet of the faucet attachment is inserted into the top of the adjustment tube and the height of the discharge device is adjusted so that the base of the device rests on the bottom of the sink and encircles the sink drain.
