  • Patent number: 6763618
Abstract: A combination rake and grubber implement mounted on a work vehicle such as a tractor or bulldozer has four main members: a lower, open or partially-closed multi-toothed rake; an upper rake that can gather, according to design and porosity, various rake products; grubbers that may be deployed, while the vehicle is moving or stationary, anywhere in an arc perpendicular to the rake plane ranging from below the bottom of the rake to above the rake; and a linkage that when actuated by some mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic force, moves the grubbers through their range of motion. In operation the grubbers bring rocks, debris, and severed roots to the surface for simultaneous raking along with undesirable surface rocks, debris, and vegetation. During operation, the vehicle operator may independently control the rake and grubber positions with respect to each other and with respect to the ground without having to dismount.

  • Patent number: 6386861
Abstract: A safety lighter having a safety switch which prevents ignition of the lighter by automatically blocking the activation trigger from returning to a pre-ignition position and in turn prevents the piezoelectric actuator from returning to a pre-ignition position after the activation trigger has been urged to an ignition position. The safety switch has a slanted member having an engagement surface and a sliding surface, and a U-shaped sliding slot member having a resilient pane, a guide arm, a blocking surface, and a safety trigger. The safety switch allows ignition of the lighter only after the safety trigger is urged upward such that the activation trigger and the piezoelectric actuator return to their pre-ignition positions.

  • Patent number: 6305642
Abstract: A device for launching a flying structure having a nose end and a tail end, having a cradle member having a first and a second end, a nose engagement member having a first and second end, a tail engagement member, and means for propelling the flying structure. The cradle member retains the flying structure prior to its launch. The second end of the nose engagement member is pivotably attached to the first end of the cradle member. The nose engagement member releasably engages the nose of the flying structure prior to launch. The tail engagement member releasably engages the tail of the flying structure prior to launch and is attached to the second end of the cradle member. When the means for propelling the flying structure is an elastic cord, the cord is attached to both the first end of the nose engagement member and to a stationary object such that the cord supplies motive force to propel the flying structure after the cord is stretched.
