  • Patent number: 6899354
Abstract: An improved joining assembly employs a retainer ring member to hold in place a gasket member in a pipe or fitting. A resilient annular gasket member is placed inside a first conduit member (pipe or fitting). An annular retainer member is provided to secure the annular gasket member inside the first conduit member against longitudinal movement towards the open end of the first conduit member. A second conduit member is received by the assembled components comprising the retainer member, gasket member and first conduit member. The retainer ring member is fixed in place by a suitable adhesive or a suitable welding technique.

  • Patent number: 6875539
Abstract: In combination, a fluid dispenser and an electrochemical cell to produce electric energy by chemical conversion of the fluid to be dispensed. The electrical energy produced is preferably used to operate a device associated with the dispensing of the fluid as, for example, in operation of an electric pump-to-pump fluid from the reservoir. The fluid preferably is dispensed for use after dispensing in some other purpose than as a source for electrochemical energy to dispense fluid from the reservoir. For example, preferred fluid containing alcohol compounds are for use in cleaning and disinfecting.

  • Patent number: 6857443
Abstract: A gas flow control mechanism for a gas blender comprising: a voltage sensitive orifice defining a passage for each gas to be controlled and having an inlet port in fluid communication with a gas source and an outlet port in fluid communication with a plenum for mixing at least two gases; a gas flow controller placed in a feed back loop to adjust at least a parameter or characteristic of a gas flow exiting from the orifice through the outlet port to preset value; the gas flow controller comprising a gas flow resistor in fluid communication with the gas exiting from the orifice and adapted to generate an output signal based on a gas flow characteristic, and a comparator, responsive to the gas resistor flow signal, to continuously evaluate and monitor the characteristic of the gas exiting from the orifice, compare the same with the preset value and minimize any difference therebetween by adjusting current supplied to the orifice which in turn adjusts the gas flow therethrough to the preset value by adjusting the

  • Patent number: 6802521
Abstract: A construction for a cargo trailer side wall providing a plurality of horizontal scruff rails to extend farthest inwardly from the side wall and a plurality of post framing segments which do not extend inwardly past the scruff rails interconnecting one or more of the scruff rails and/or the floor and roof so as to provide a structural frame member reinforcing the side wall.

  • Patent number: 6785571
Abstract: An apparatus having an insertable portion for holding a position sensor is disclosed. The position sensor can transmit a signal indicative of its position with respect to a field generator. The insertable portion of the apparatus has fiducial markings that are detectable by an imaging modality when the insertable portion is inserted into the anatomical body. After the insertable portion has been inserted into the anatomical body, the fiducial markings can be detected to facilitate registration of the position sensor held in the insertable portion to the anatomical body. The apparatus also has a fixing mechanism for releasably fixing the insertable portion to the anatomical body. When the insertable portion is inserted into the anatomical body to a location of interest, the fixing mechanism rigidly fixes the insertable portion of the catheter to a part of the anatomical body near the location of interest. The apparatus may comprise a catheter, needle or endoscope for inserting the insertable portion.

  • Patent number: 6764245
Abstract: A connection device in which a hook member is carried in a casing member for both rotation about an axis of the hook member and movement longitudinally of the hook member inwardly and outwardly relative the casing. An actuating member is provided to displace the hook member simultaneously for rotation and axial movement. The connection device is particularly adapted to be used as an element of a releasable joint for modular frame construction of frame members having T-shaped longitudinally extending slots. With the hook member in an unlocked position, the hook member extends from one frame member carrying the hook member and permits passage into a slot of another frame member with the hook member in the slot in the unlocked position, the hook member may be moved to a locked position by rotation and withdrawal of the hook member relative the frame member by which it is carried so as to catch the head of the hook member in the T-shaped slot and draw the two frame members together.

  • Patent number: 6758325
Abstract: A conveyor system includes an elongate track or rail and a number of trolleys used to store and/or convey various items along the track or rail. In cross-section, the rail is generally crescent shaped with a hollow interior, having an upwardly convex upper surface and an upwardly concave lower surface. The trolleys consist of an elongated trolley bar or support suspended on one or more trolley pendants which movably engage and travel along the rail. The trolley pendants are generally U-shaped having a central bight or body to which the trolley bar is coupled, and two spaced apart arms which project from the bight. The arms of the trolley pendant are spaced from each other by a distance selected greater than the lateral width of the rail. The arms of the trolley pendant define a throat portion between the arms. A bearing member is spaced towards the end of each arm, projecting inwardly towards each other part way into the throat.
