Abstract: A height adjustment apparatus for a baby walker includes a first controlling member and a second controlling member which are associated with each other. The height of the baby walker can be adjusted only when rotation of first controlling member and movement of the second controlling member are effected.

Abstract: A novel heatable filament wire support is provided embodying flexible and rigid support and current-providing bracket beams terminating in inherent resilient clip springs for accurately clamping the ends of the filament with mechanical and electrical reliability, enabling facile filament wire alignment and replacement, and accommodation for thermal displacement upon filament heating.
Abstract: This invention embraces a method of controlling the impermeability of an organic polymer film to gases such as oxygen, aroma, flavor and fragrance and the like to produce gas impermeable organic polymer films by coating with a mixture of a siloxane monomer with carboxylic acid in an alcohol solvent and evaporating the solvent to complete the formation of Si--O--Si bonds; and then polymerizing and grafting the coating, preferably by electron beam radiation, to the polymer film. Improved coated polymer films and formulation products therefor are also provided.

Abstract: A novel technique and apparatus for shielding electron beam and similar product irradiation zones with a separable shielding housing extending transversely of the longitudinal line of product flow and slidably openable in a transverse direction orthogonal to both the electron beam and the direction of product flow, both in passing the beam and along the line, resulting in substantial space saving, more facile accelerating to the irradiation and product feed zone and less costly and sizeable shielding apparatus.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for notifying a remote subscriber of a caller's attempted communication by a communication system accepting and recognizing a call for a subscriber, paging the subscriber, and connecting the original caller to the subscriber's telephone line when the subscriber calls the system in answer to the page. Other features include recording a caller message for the subscriber if the subscriber calls back to the system after the original caller has disconnected.
Abstract: A novel totally integrated divers face mask and ultrasound underwater voice communication apparatus having integral transducer-transmit-receive-power source enclosures of low profile, flexible hands-free-voice or push-to-talk operation while submerged, and noise-cancelling microphone features for reducing bubble and vibration noise.
Abstract: A novel electron beam apparatus and technique wherein a plurality of longitudinally extending heated filaments is employed, each similarly offset laterally of a central longitudinal axis, but with successive filaments alternately disposed on opposite sides of said axis and cooperating with a first low velocity accelerating stage comprising staggered grid slots and openings, and a high velocity second accelerating stage to provide long uniform longitudinal electron beams.

Abstract: Novel preset, calibrated stud bolts and spring-loaded nut assemblies with torque-off spline tips for securing structural conduit units and the like, and method of calibrating the same.
Abstract: A flexible longitudinally extending roadway marker strip of flexible plastic rubber-like sheet material (produced by a preferred method of fabrication) comprises a cross-linked or vulcanized upper layer having longitudinally extending therealong successive sets of successively spaced protuberances, ridges or ridge segments deformed therein and extending transversely of the strip. Projecting retroreflective bead coatings are adhered to at least the forward and rearward surfaces of the protuberances, ridges or ridge segments, and flat unbeaded daylight-bright or colored-appearance segments are disposed intermediate the successive sets and have a dimension in the longitudinal direction of the strip greater than that of the individual projections, ridges or ridge segments and the spaces therebetween in each set.
Abstract: A method of imubing polymer films as of polyethylene and polypropylene with gas, aroma, fragrance, flavor, grease and oil impermable surface characteristics involving coating the film with appropriate silane compounds and cross-linking the same while providing physical adsorption adherence to the film, and in sufficient coating micron thickness to produce gas and related barrier characteristics; with chemical grafting, including by eb techniques, further providing improved bonding. Preferred barrier-coated polymer films with reduced haze and clarity are formed by such method. The method is also useful to increase the barrier properties of organo-polymer films that already possess initial barrier characteristics.
Abstract: An improved method of and apparatus for forming sheet material into compound curves by drawing, in which critical positioning, dimensioning and relative curvatures of forming bead stages are provided for such curvatures as sectors of paraboloidal antenna reflectors and other compound curve sheets.

Abstract: The invention relates to filtering a periodic digital signal having N logic levels and having noise superposed thereon. The instantaneous probability of existence of each of these logic levels is converted into a corresponding one of N signals each having its own maximum amplitude when the modulated value of the received instantaneous signal is equal to the normal value for a corresponding logic level, which amplitude falls off by application of a weighting coefficient as the received instantaneous value moves away from the normal value of that logic level. The signal relating to each looked-for logic level is integrated over the duration of an elementary modulation period in the received digital signal, and the recognized logic level is the level corresponding to the largest value integral.
Abstract: A silicone release paper comprises a porous and highly absorbent paper substrate integrated with a radiation-insensitive hardened hot melt barrier coating, upon which coating a radiation-cured silicone coating layer has been secured. The barrier coating is formed of a material having a viscosity sufficiently low that the material permeates the porous paper substrate. A pressure-sensitive adhesive may be provided on the side of the paper opposite to that on which the silicone coating layer has been secured.
Abstract: A microcomputer integrates a Digital Subscriber Terminal (DST) adapted to an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN). In addition to the electronic circuit boards that ensure all the normal data processing and management functions (central processing unit, input/output circuits, ROM and RAM circuits), the microcomputer is equipped with an additional set of circuit boards for interfacing with an ISDN system, so as to constitute a microcomputer-contained DST for an ISDN. The management and switching of data concerning the ISDN system are provided by the additional set of circuits, so that the DST function is achieved without calling on the resources of the microcomputer's central processing unit. In this way, the essential telephone switching function is obtained without calling on the PC's central processing unit, while the integration of the DST within the PC makes it possible to benefit from the computer's data processing functions with a minimum amount of equipment for a maximum number of functions.
