  • Patent number: 7279665
Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing harmonic inductive power, and more particularly for delivering current pulses providing a desired amount of pulse energy in high frequency harmonics to a load circuit for inductive heating of an article. By controlling the shape and/or frequency of such current pulses, the apparatus and method can be used to enhance the rate, intensity and/or power of inductive heating delivered by the heater coil and/or to enhance the lifetime or reduce the cost and complexity of an inductive heating power supply. Of particular significance, the apparatus and method may be used to significantly increase the power inductively delivered to a ferromagnetic or other inductively heated load, without requiring an increase of current in the heater coil. This enables new heating applications, and in some known applications, decreases the energy consumption or cooling requirements and/or increase the lifetime of the heater coil.

  • Patent number: 7236694
Abstract: This invention is based on combining dual heating means to warm the infused blood or other fluids to a normal body temperature and to compensate for any heat loss from the intravenous line. The infusate is directly heated to a normothermic temperature inside the apparatus as it flows in a plastic pouch having a winding shape passage. A particular object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved intravenous line heat exchanger to further warm the infusate at high flow rates, or to compensate for any heat loss to the environment at low or stagnant flow rates. The present invention provides a closed circuit heating fluid for the intravenous heat exchanger. The heated fluid used to warm the infusate in the intravenous line is maintained in a clean and isolated circuit. Either dray or wet fluids are used to warm the infusate in the intravenous line heat exchanger. The wet warming fluid is supplied in a disposable pouch fitted inside a warming chamber and integrated with the intravenous line.

  • Patent number: 7212174
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating application sharing in a networked environment is provided. Specifically, the system divides a display area on a host computer into a plurality of regions, with each region comprised of a predetermined number of current pixels. The system then evaluates current pixels within a selected region and compares them to corresponding pixels stored in memory. If the system determines that the value of the current pixel differs from the value of the stored corresponding pixel, all pixels within the region are sent to a receiving computer via a network. The receiving computer inserts the received region into a display such that it matches the display on the host computer from which the region originated.

  • Patent number: 7197561
Abstract: A network appliance for monitoring, diagnosing and documenting problems among a plurality of devices and processes (objects) coupled to a computer network utilizes periodic polling and collection of object-generated trap data to monitor the status of objects on the computer network. The status of a multitude of objects is maintained in memory utilizing virtual state machines which contain a small amount of persistent data but which are modeled after one of a plurality of finite state machines. The memory further maintains dependency data related to each object which identifies parent/child relationships with other objects at the same or different layers of the OSI network protocol model. A decision engine verifies through on-demand polling that a device is down. A root cause analysis module utilizes status and dependency data to locate the highest object in the parent/child relationship tree that is affected to determine the root cause of a problem.

  • Patent number: 7142837
Abstract: A multiple-section bandpass filter for broadcast communications includes adjacent waveguide segments with a perpendicular connecting segment between them to form a U-shaped signal path. The waveguide cavities of the segments may be extruded and rectangular in cross section, and have a groundplane spacing that allows signal propagation between filter sections by evanescent coupling. Resonators in each of the adjacent segments have a separation that establishes the coupling bandwidths without the need for passive decoupling structures. A cross coupling conductor between the adjacent segments provides a capacitive or inductive coupling between them. A decoupling structure may be located in the connecting segment.
