  • Patent number: 5871640
Abstract: A septic tank filter system comprises a mounting member adapted for attachment to an interior surface of a septic system tank, at least one open-ended, cylindrical filter housing fixed to the mounting member, and a hollow foraminated filter nested in each filter housing. The filter has a first conduit providing a fluid flow connection between the filter interior and an outlet port in the filter housing. Liquid sewage is filtered during passage from the outside of the filter to its interior. Filtrate flows through the first conduit, then through the filter housing outlet port, thence through the mounting member and finally exits the tank through the outlet pipe in the tank wall. A score line in the filter housing side wall permits ready removal of a section thereof to form an inlet port. Telescoping channel members on the outside of the filter housings allow them to be interconnected with the outlet port of one in fluid flow connection with the inlet port of another.

  • Patent number: 5718530
Abstract: A method of assembling a sheet binder mechanism to a binder cover includes making holes in a board in predetermined alignment with a plurality of fastening means on the binder mechanism, inserting bracket means in the holes preferably so that the board retainably holds the bracket means, attaching the board to the binder cover, attaching a binder cover liner to the board on the side of the board that is away from the attachment of the board to the binder cover, and attaching the sheet binder mechanism to the binder cover by driving a thread making fastener into the bracket means.

  • Patent number: 5655564
Abstract: A plastic fluid distribution box for installation in a subterranean system for waste water transport includes a first wall having an opening in the wall, and an elastomeric seal mounted in the opening and including a second wall. The second wall is permanently and sealingly attached to the first wall adjacent to and around the opening. The elastomeric seal includes a third planar wall having an annular separation ring defining a second opening dimensioned to provide a watertight fit on a pipe of predetermined dimension. Walls connecting the third planar wall to the second wall are angled with respect to the planar wall by an angle selected from the group of angles consisting of generally 90 degrees and generally 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 5634306
Abstract: A unitary composite frame member of two or more structural elements. A first and a second of the elements each contributes strength to the member. The second element, a plastic, encloses the first element on essentially all surfaces along the length of the first element, and is molded to itself through recesses of openings in an edge of the first element. The first element is discontinuous in that it is two walls attached lengthwise, and a third wall parallel to them and separate from them. In one embodiment, the third wall and one of the two walls intersect laterally.

  • Patent number: 5626984
Abstract: A lead terminal post extending upward through the top of an insulator wall of a battery includes a plurality of flat vertical sides fused continuously from its top to below the top of the insulator wall, to a harder, metallic, cap having a plurality of flat vertical sides. The metallic cap is covered with a plastic cap that extends below the metallic cap, below the top of the insulator wall, and is sealed to the insulator wall. A terminal bar having parallel walls extends from a flat wall of the cap, through the plastic cap, normal to the flat wall, and contains a removably mounted connector having a leaf spring connection with the terminal bar and an element within the connector adjacent to and connected to the leaf spring, that prevents horizontal rotation of the connector on the bar. A plastic overseal on the connector makes a seal with the plastic cap when the connector is fully mounted on the terminal bar.
