Abstract: In a gyratory crusher the crusher head is mounted on a drive shaft which is driven by an eccentric. The eccentric is continually rotated to cause the head to gyrate for effecting the crushing of material. an antispin arrangement is provided to prevent rotation of the crusher head in the same direction as the eccentric under idling conditions or no load conditions. The antispin device includes a pair of ratchets one of which is coupled to the shaft and the other of which is formed on the end face of a piston which is held in the counterbore of the drive shaft by a spring. A rectangular torsion rod extends through the center of the piston into a clearance hole bored in the crusher head drive shaft. The top of the torsion rod is anchored in the spider cap of the crusher.
Abstract: In a crusher having a crusher head shaft which is adjustable under load in the vertical direction and passes through a drive eccentric, clearance must exist between the shaft and the inner eccentric bearing. Due to the constantly rotating crushing load which moves angularly in the same direction as the drive eccentric is rotating and relative to the shaft which is stationary or slowly rotating in a direction opposite to the direction in which the drive eccentric is rotating, the inner race of the inner bearing of the eccentric should be an interference fit on the shaft. If the inner race is not an interference fit on the shaft, rapid wear will occur on both the shaft and the bearing bore. To overcome these two opposing requirements of a loose fit for adjusting purposes and a tight fit for good bearing practice, a composite bushing assembly is provided.
Abstract: Eccentric assembly removal is accomplished by operation of the crusher head shaft piston exerting an upward pushing force on the eccentric assembly and simultaneously applying high pressure fluid to the eccentric outer bearing housing.
Abstract: A single pull rod mechanism for actuating the contacts of each phase of a three-phase gas insulated circuit breaker arrangement utilizes acceleration springs only in relation to the second and third phases. Contact parting velocity is measured externally of the breaker thereby providing a check on the breaker operation without breaking the integrity of the gas tight tanks. An eight valve gas system utilizing an integral manifold provides for a complete circulatory arrangement for the high and low pressure gas for all three phases of the circuit breakers increasing the operating reliability of the circuit breaker while simplifying routine and major maintenance procedures.

Abstract: Sequential operation of a pair of switches in a required sequence of operation is ensured by means of a telescoping arrangement of tubes which are connected to associated ones of switch operating shafts. A positive stop prevents the movement of one telescoping member relative to the other out of sequential order.
Abstract: A strategically located series of spaced apart classifiers set at varying depths within a pelletizer pan operated to classify the forming pellets and also impart controlled energy into the forming pellets producing pellets of improved quality. Controlled classifying of the forming pellets stabilizes pellet output. With a stabilized pellet output obtained the need for driving the pellet pan with a variable speed device can be eliminated since pan rotation can be maintained at a constant speed.

A cooler recoup system directs cooler recoup air to the grate fuel burner as preheat combustion air for the fuel burner. The cooler recoup air is also directed to the grate preheat zone as preheated combustion air for fuel in the pellet bed. Cooler recoup air is also directed to the drying zone. The cooler recoup system is controlled so that excess cooler recoup air is bypassed to the waste gas system to dump excess air. Also, a cooler recoup fan speed or damper is regulated to control kiln firing hood pressure by varying the flow. In addition, there is provided the cooler recoup excess air bypass damper for controlling duct pressure to stabilize air flow in the system by varying the flow to the waste gas system.
Abstract: Liquid SF.sub.6 from the high pressure storage tanks within the gas sealed enclosure of a multi-interrupter gas insulated circuit breaker is collected in a tank located externally of the circuit breaker enclosure. A float within the liquid collecting tank operates a micro switch to effect operation of a solenoid actuated valve to pass the liquid SF.sub.6 into the low pressure system of the circuit breaker wherein it again returns to its gaseous state. The collected SF.sub.6 gas in the low pressure system is pumped back into the high pressure system through a compressor.
