    Abstract: A method and apparatus for wheelchair control. The position and distance of a touch point on a touch pad is used to set speed and wheel differential control. The two major wheels of the wheelchair are controlled according to these set quantities. Exceeding either of two horizontal accelerations measured by an accelerometer limits the set speed. Wheelchair control is shut down upon exceeding a vertical acceleration limit.

    Abstract: A hardware based wake-up scheme initiates memory power-up upon a normal access to a powered down memory. The access that triggered the power-up is buffered. Further accesses are stalled until the memory is completely powered up. The buffered access then proceeds to the memory and the processor is brought out of stall. In cases where the software does not directly control access to the memory, such as on a cache miss, this scheme avoids undesirable conditions due to access to powered down memories.

If the second type of data is expected, then the second type of information is embedded in at least one reference symbol by quadrature amplitude modulating the pre-defined reference signal. The subframe is then transmitted from one node in the network to a second node. If it is determined that the second node is not expecting the second type of information, then a discontinuous transmission (DTX) response is embedded in the reference symbol instead of the second type of information.
