Abstract: A toilet footrest to enable a toilet user to raise his or her feet to an elevation above floor level to facilitate defecation. The footrest comprises a vertical member and horizontal members placed at horizontally opposed locations along the vertical member. The toilet footrest with bar may be used with or without a base and may also comprise holes having the same cross-sectional area and shape as the horizontal members and placed at horizontally opposed locations along the length of the vertical member. The base of the toilet footrest with bar may also be “U”-shaped to permit easy storage at the base of the toilet. This embodiment permits the user to vary the location of the horizontal members along the vertical member thereby permitting the user to vary the elevation of his/her feet.

Abstract: Forceps to facilitate the removal of foreign bodies from the skin or flesh. A rigid locator, having a circular or oval shape, is mounted to one of the jaws of the forceps by way of a rigid connector such that the opening in the rigid locator is directly in line with the opening formed by the jaws of the forceps. The opening of the rigid locator is placed around the tip of the foreign body in the flesh and pressure exerted such that the rigid locator pushes the flesh away from the top of the foreign body, permitting the jaws of the forceps to close on the exposed tip of the foreign body and remove it.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus to facilitate the correlation and retrieval of notes of a meeting or transaction taken on paper by conventional handwriting or typing with the sound recording of the same transaction or meeting. The device comprises multiple pick-up and control units which transmit sound and a unique bar code identifier through a control device to a computer where the sound transmission is recorded and stored. A removable medium recorder is also provided to provide storage in the event that the storage capabilities of the computer are exceeded. The computer will not accept data for recording until the unique identifying bar code or other identification device is detected. After recording, the data is maintained in the memory of the computer or some other electronically accessible medium.

Abstract: The present invention is an improvement over existing walking canes to be used by people with physical impairments that require them to have additional support while walking. The present invention provides a means by which an imbalance in the weight distribution among the multiple legs of the cane is sensed and transmitted to the user. The walking cane with sensors comprises a handle, a vertical shaft and multiple legs or feet. Each of the legs is equipped with electronic stress or load sensors which are coupled to an electronic processing module. The processing module evaluates the input from the cane legs and activates a warning to the user in the event that the load sensors on the legs detect a load distribution indicative of an approaching unstable situation. The user can then stop and probe with the cane until a stable position is found.

Abstract: The present invention is a device to enable a physician to accurately measure masses encountered during rectal, pelvic, surgical or other internal examinations where the examiner cannot see the objects but must judge their size by only palpitation. The device comprises a one-piece tight fitting glove of thin elastic impervious material with four fingers and a thumb with palpable markings located on one or more fingers of the glove. The markings are spaced at intervals of known length between the interphalangeal joint and the tips of one or more fingers on the pad or palm side, and can be felt on the inside of the glove such that the physician can accurately measure masses which he or she is able to feel but cannot observe.

Abstract: The present invention is an improvement over existing methods of testing a patient for color perception. The present invention provides a means by which color perception can be tested at the same time that visual acuity is measured. The eye chart with color vision screening comprises a chart which displays objects of progressively smaller sizes with the larger sized objects being displayed in color in order that color perception can be measured and with the smaller objects displayed black on the white background in order that the chart's effectiveness as a tool for measuring visual acuity is not reduced.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wall switch plate adaptor for use by children or the disabled to turn off and on wall switches which are located above the reach of the potential user. The wall switch plate adaptor comprises a switch plate cover that includes raised areas to the left and right of the middle opening. These raised areas of the switch plate cover are used as guides for the flared edges wing-like projections at the end of an elongated member which projects a distance below the bottom edge of the switch plate cover. The wing-like projections fit in between the raised areas to the left and right of the opening in the switch plate cover. The top of the elongated member has a box channel shaped cross-section with flared edges forming wing-like projection has an opening in the center so the toggle switch can be put through when assembled.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a card display container suitable for use in displaying gift items or greeting cards containing sentimental messages or artistic renderings. The card display container comprises a transparent hollow spherical housing a card inside the spherical housing which contacts the inner surface of the spherical housing at the corners of the card, and an opening for insertion of the greeting card or gift item. The opening in the housing is closed by means of a plug. The plug may follow the exterior contour of the spherical housing or extend beyond the exterior surface of the spherical housing to form a flat surface thereby providing a base for the display container to rest on any flat surface such as a desk or shelf. The ornamental display container may also be displayed by hanging. The present invention provides a means for displaying gift items or cards containing sentimental messages or artistic renderings which can be viewed from almost any angle.

Abstract: Provided is a triangular-shaped clipper for a nail made of a pair of cooperative jaws having a plurality of connected sharpened concave or convex edges which register with each other by activation of a triangular-shaped lever member, the jaws having a normal tendency to separate, the lever member being mounted hingedly and turnably onto a means connecting said jaws for directing a force from said lever member to close said jaws, each of said jaws having an edge which exhibits a design comprised of at least three connected convex or concave arches with a side flap or extension of one side of the lower jaw such that the extension exhibits a curved shape which extends a distance and curves such that it wraps the edge of the finger or toe to hold or register the place or position of the cutting edges relative to the nail to maintain the pattern produced by the ornamental cutting edges on the nail at the same relative position on all nails cut.

Abstract: An easily decorative/redecorative switch and receptacle wallplate comprising a baseplate with retaining lip to be attached to the switch/receptacle by screws, a decor plate, decor, transparent shield and outer frame all of which are attached to the baseplate with a trim frame around the perimeter of the entire assembly with a lip on either side enclosing the baseplate lip and the edges of the decor plate, decor, transparent shield and over frame. The trim frame is easily removable for the changing of the decor.

Abstract: A plurality of ampules, individually formed, filled with reagents, sealed with a pane and marked with indicia for reagents to be mixed with blood in performing tests to determine blood type groups is disclosed. A receptacle for a blood sample which conveys the blood sample to the ampules and which accomodates a plurality of the ampules is also disclosed along with a means for rupturing each pane.
