  • Patent number: 4526292
Abstract: A chest for storing, warming and dispensing ampules of medicants such as novocaine. In addition, provision is made for storing the hypodermic needles and the hypodermic syringes separately from the ampules of medicants so that the hypodermic syringes, the hypodermic needles and the ampules of medicants all are stored in orderly fashion. In particular, the chest includes a number of apertures for receiving therein the hypodermic syringes so that the hypodermic syringe can be easily selected for use. The chest includes two covered compartments which have trays removably stored therein. The hypodermic needles can be stored in one of the two trays and ampules of medicants such as novocaine or the like can be stored in the other one of the two trays. In addition, each of the two compartments is formed to receive a number of the ampules and to convey these ampules to a dispensing mechanism which is actuated simply by pressing a handle at the front of the chest to individually dispense the ampules.

  • Patent number: 4520564
Abstract: A tool for removing the outer sheet metal skin of an automobile door. The tool includes a head having a handle and a shank affixed to it, so that the tool can be held and guided by the handle, when operated with a pneumatic hammer or air chisel is coupled to the shank. The tool has a stepped groove formed in the bottom wall of the head, and a removable cutting bit which extends through the head and has its cutting edge co-planar with the bottom of the groove. Forward of the cutting bit the groove is of a deeper depth, and controls the depth of cut made by the tool when the cut edge of the sheet metal skin is seated in the groove behind the cutting bit. A bore also is provided in the head for dispelling the chip or scrape cut from the sheet metal skin.

  • Patent number: 4487136
Abstract: A pallet leg for a corrugated cardboard pallet is disclosed, in which tubular leg elements are secured by adhesive to a flat table element. Die-cut finger members are formed in the corrugated cardboard table member at each leg attachment point, and are positioned perpendicular to the table member within an annulus formed by two nesting cylindrical paperboard leg members. The finger members are formed by die-cut lines tangent to a central hole so that a somewhat spiral pattern is formed, much like a camera iris.

  • Patent number: 4472867
Abstract: A tool for bending a lip on sheet metal around a frame, particularly useful in bending a sheet metal door panel around an automobile door frame. The operator manually grasps the tool handle in one hand while operating a ratchet with his other hand to drive the tool and bend the sheet metal. The ratchet operates a drive roller which causes the tool to move forward while also bending the lip of the sheet metal around the frame.

  • Patent number: 4468596
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating and monitoring the opening and closing cycle of electrically operated units such as electric windows and electric slide roofs which both eliminates the danger of body parts getting caught in the window and permits a complete opening and closing of the window automatically. In accordance with the invention, the speed of the drive motor is measured, directly or indirectly, and the first obtained measured value is compared with all following measured values. More particularly, this first measured value is used to detect momentary electrical and mechanical factors which change over the entire time of operation of the window, such as self-heating of the drive motor, the voltage charge of the battery, and the state and condition of the window. The processing or comparing of the measured values is carried out by a microcomputer. The actual measuring of the speed is by means of a sensor. The changes furnished by those sensors are utilized to determine the position of the window.

  • Patent number: 4463867
Abstract: A thermoplastic container which is blown, filled and hermetically sealed in a single forming and filling operation. The removable cap integrally formed therewith normally hermetically seals the container and has a peripheral side wall, a horizontal flange portion which merges with the neck portion and an annular groove which is formed in the horizontal flange portion and provides a weakened severing line for removing the cap. A pull tab having a narrow in width, vertically disposed tab flange is integrally connected with the horizontally extending flange portion and has means for gripping the pull tab to pivotally manipulate the pull tab outwardly from the container. The pull tab on being pivotally manipulated causes the horizontally extending flange portion to sever at the annular groove, thereby permitting the cap to be removed from the container.

  • Patent number: 4447077
Abstract: A fitting for mounting to the ends of smooth wall tubes, the fitting having an entry for the tube and a collet which grips on the outside diameter of the tube by means of a mechanical spring. The fitting also seals on the inside diameter of the tube. A passageway extends through the fitting such that the tube is in fluid communication with a supply source, the fluid being able to flow between the supply source and the tube. The fluid pressure activates a piston in the fitting which causes the collet to engage the tube more securely and also increases the seal within the inside diameter of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4447285
Abstract: The invention is related to the technical field of cardboard-making machines, and in particular it concerns a device for holding paper close against a corrugating roller in a corrugated board-making machine. The technical problem to be solved is that of providing such a device, which, while being simple and applicable to virtually all of the corrugated board-making machines, can attain an efficiency level affording a significant increase of the machine production rate and quality. The problem has been solved by providing a device which comprises suction members having a number of flattened suction ports to fit at least in part in the indentations of a corrugating roller and being rigid with holders carried slidably on bars which extend parallel to the corrugating roller, said holders being guided along said bars by locating elements made rigid with the holders and inserted into said indentations in substantially direct contact relationship with the corrugating roller.

  • Patent number: 4445429
Abstract: An improved process and apparatus for chilling and plasticizing fatty materials, particularly lard, shortening and margarine. The molten fat which generally is at 130.degree.-140.degree. F. is delivered to a feed pump which pumps the molten fat into and through a scraped surface heat exchanger. As normally done, approximately 5-25% by volume of air or inert gas is injected into the molten fat on the suction side of the feed pump, to cause the plasticized fat to be white and opaque, rather than translucent. The molten fat is cooled from 130.degree.-140.degree. F. to approximately 70.degree.-86.degree. F. in the heat exchanger, and is partially crystallized. The cooled, partially crystallized product from the heat exchanger passes directly through a crystallizing element where it is subjected to sufficient shearing forces by the rotational circulation of the product around its own hydraulic center to cause radial mixing of the product to form a fine crystal structure.

  • Patent number: 4430843
Abstract: A mailing and display package and method for manufacturing the same is prepared from a cardboard or paper board blank which is divided into two panels by a fold line. A window is cut in the blank and is symmetrical in each of the two panels on each side of the fold line and is further bordered on all sides by the blank. A piece of transparent film covers the window and the blank is folded along the fold line until the two panels of the blank are in face to face contact at which time they are secured to each other. The transparent film material forms an enclosed transparent pouch to retain a product for mailing or displaying.

  • Patent number: 4423297
Abstract: A steering column switch with a warning flashing switch that overlaps a steering column spindle. There is a conductor plate perpendicular to the axis of the steering spindle with an actuating member for the actuation of a slider switch provided in the peripheral wall of the steering column switch. In an annular section of the conductor plate there are contact heads on either side of the plate. The slider has a circular, segment-shaped cross section and is parallel with the axis of the steering column switch, and shiftable perpendicular to the plane of the conductor plate. The slider carries several contact bridges which cooperate with the contact heads of the conductor plate. Contact bridges on the conductor plate are non-flexibly held and fixed to the slider and establish stop positions of the slider when the contact bridge engages the contact heads on the conductor plate.
