Abstract: A fuse holder for a cartridge type fuse is formed of a housing having a fuse transfer region and a fuse contact region in the interior space thereof. A fuse carrier is provided, which carrier is captured within the housing. The fuse carrier is movable between the fuse transfer region and the fuse contact region. A fuse is inserted or removed into the fuse carrier through a suitable opening provided within the fuse transfer region. Within the fuse contact region there are provided fuse contact members which engage the conductive ends of the fuse when the carrier moves the fuse into the fuse contact region.
Abstract: A fuse holder assembly for a cartridge type fuse includes an elongated fuse carrier bar having a cylindrical opening in a fuse containment portion for loosely accepting the fuse therein. The fuse contacts include a conductive spring at the inward end of the assembly and a generally U-shaped spring fuse clip member at the outward end. The assembly includes a recess at its inward end to accept an end of the fuse carrier bar and when the carrier bar is inserted in the recess the inward end of the fuse is brought into contact with the spring. The fuse carrier bar is then pivoted to cause the outward end of the fuse to be captured by the fuse clip. To remove a fuse, the fuse carrier bar is pivoted to pull the fuse out of contact with the fuse clip and the fuse carrier bar is then removed by being pulled outward from the assembly. To insure that only the proper size fuse is placed in circuit, a unique spacing is provided between the spring contact and the fuse clip in the location reserved for that size fuse.

Abstract: A thread handling system for a sewing machine is provided with a tensioning device without a check spring, a thread takeup member for pulling thread from the tensioning device and setting stitches, and a thread holder including a pair of elongated members which grasp and meter thread to a needle and looptaker. The tensioning device is disposed with respect to the operating limits of the takeup member to enable thread to be withdrawn from the tensioning device without being pulled from the thread source and with only slight thread tension.
Abstract: A collapsed barrier is placed in the water in the general path of a detected homing torpedo after which the barrier is erected into one or more generally vertical planes to intercept the torpedo. When the torpedo strikes the barrier an explosive charge is detonated to destroy the torpedo.
Abstract: A crosshead for a scotch yoke mechanism is formed from a generally rectangular blank of sheet steel provided with a generally oval, straight sided opening extending generally transversely medially thereof and a pair of generally circular openings centered and spaced apart from each of the oval opening straight sides, the blank being formed, as on a four slide forming machine generally around two generally parallel lines each being generally extensions of the oval opening straight sides to provide top and bottom generally parallel panels defining a closed end guide track having parallel sides and positioning the generally circular openings in the top and bottom panels and in line to be threaded on a generally cylindrical tubular saw bar of a sabre saw, the blank being further formed to tubular configuration of generally rectangular cross-section by two further parallel bends closing the crosshead on a fourth side on the side of the saw bar opposite the guide track opening.
